‘Wheel Of Fortune’ Fans Slam Quality Of Contestants This Season

This season on Wheel of Fortune, there have been a pair of big-money winners. There have also been some hard-luck contestants. In all, Ryan Seacrest’s first season has seen some good and bad, like any other season of the game show. However, there are some fans who think that this season’s contestants are worse than ever.
Here is what fans are saying about the popular game show in Seacrest’s debut season.
Is Wheel Of Fortune Not As Good As Usual This Season?
There have been two $100,000 winners this season on Wheel of Fortune. That alone is impressive so early in the new season. However, many fans have been blasting the season since the start, since many were not happy that Ryan Seacrest replaced Pat Sajak as the host.

This has now led some people to look at the players this season in a negative light. A recent Reddit thread was started, with one fan saying that the contestants this season were “not great.” The OP said they didn’t want to be “overly critical,” but the players this season were “mediocre.”
They pointed to a few problems. They said some players were repeating letters already called. Others were giving bizarre answers. Others waited until almost every letter was on the board before answering. They then asked, “Are these people for real?”
The commenters responded with their thoughts on the new season:
- “It doesn’t help that there seem to be more spins landing on bankrupt than ever before. This seasons has been rough to watch so far.”
- “The guy tonight was on the prize puzzle and had most of it and could have bought a vowel or two that would have helped. Instead, he spun and went bankrupt.”
- “Completely agree! We literally said it’s like these people have never seen this show. It’s crazy to me.”
- “I think they’re digging in for more back stories on the contestants than strong players. Which is weird.”
The Good & Bad Of Wheel Of Fortune This Season
With all these complaints, it hasn’t been all bad on Wheel of Fortune this season. There have been a pair of winners who took home $100,000 each in the Bonus Round. There were also a couple of tough-luck losses this season in the Bonus Round.

The two tough-luck losses saw bad letter choices in the games, but those puzzles were tricky anyway. One had the final answer as “Wooden Spoon,” so if a person didn’t choose “O” as a vowel, it was really hard to figure out. Another puzzle had the words “Cashew Milk,” which many viewers at home thought was too niche to guess.
