‘FOX NFL Sunday’ Michael Strahan Interrupts, Sets Terry Bradshaw Straight
During a recent airing of FOX NFL Sunday, Terry Bradshaw had to make an apology on air. This followed an interruption from co-host and sports analyst Michael Strahan. The whole issue actually revolved around a mistake made concerning another member of the show.
Michael Strahan Had To Remind Terry Bradshaw About A Co-Star
Bradshaw is a former professional football quarterback best known for playing with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Since then, however, he has also made a name for himself as a co-host and sports analyst on FOX NFL Sunday.
In fact, Bradshaw is in good company, with other members of the panel being known for their time on the gridiron. This actually became an issue during a recent episode.
The panel had been analyzing the Detroit Lions’ victory against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Ford Field. Bradshaw then turned to Rob Gronkowski.
While Gronkowski serves as a regular part of the show, Bradshaw seemed to confuse him for a guest. As Bradshaw noted, “The guy whose seat you’re sitting in right now, filling in for… Jimmy Johnson,” referencing a coach-turned-commenter who recently took time off from the show.
At this, Strahan interrupted Bradshaw to note, “He’s not filling in, he’s here all the time!” In turn, Gronkowski himself pointed out, “Wow, yeah, I’m a part of the show, Terry!”
Rob Gronkowski Actually Took A Break From The Show In 2019
Bradshaw, to his credit, soon apologized for his mistake. As he said on air, “Okay, I made a mistake. All right, all right, I apologize, Gronk, you know I love you.”
At this point, Bradshaw then returned to his earlier point, effectively that “Jimmy had the same approach. As he explained, “Jimmy’s thing as a coach was, ‘Always respect your opponent’. No matter how, you say, inferior, always respect your opponent and don’t ever give them hope.”
As noted by Irish Star, this isn’t the only time Bradshaw has made a mistake on the show. On an episode airing November 17, he notably mixed up Sam Darnold and Jared Goff.
For his part, Gronkowski first joined FOX in 2019. At one point, he left to re-join Tom Brady with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers obtaining his fifth Super Bowl. However, he retired and returned to FOX in 2022, featuring on FOX NFL Sunday and FOX NFL Kickoff.
Beforehand, Gronkowski was known for his time playing for the New England Patriots. Outside of his work with Fox, he is also known for co-hosting the Dudes on Dudes with Gronk and Jules podcast with Julian Edelman.
