‘1000-lb Sisters’ Is Amanda Halterman’s ‘Bully’ Behavior An Act?
1000-lb Sisters star Amanda Halterman is one of the most memorable cast members who appeared later in the season. She debuted in Season 3. Unlike her siblings, Amanda has already made significant progress in her weight loss journey. She was also known for the controversial comments she had made over the years. But several Redditors think she was actually the most “real” family member. Keep reading to see why.
1000-lb Sisters: Amanda Halterman’s Controversial Behavior
Earlier this year, a Reddit thread called out Amanda for the changes in her behavior, especially towards her siblings Amy and Tammy. According to the poster, they used to like the 1000-lb Sisters star for being a protective and supportive sibling. However, she began picking on Amy for having a “lazy eye.”
She even blamed Amy for getting upset about her for making that comment and made her apologize for it. Amanda also faced backlash for yelling and screaming at Amy for her “bad attitude” after walking out of a Zumba class with constipation pain. Others agreed and said that she has also shown signs of gaslighting Amy and an instigator.
Fans Think Amanda Is Real Amid Bully Rumors
Another Reddit thread also discussed why Amanda Halterman may be the most “real” among the siblings amid speculations that she was the bully. According to the poster, they won’t deny that the 1000-lb Sisters star was a “grump” a few episodes ago. But the moment she complimented Amy’s white chocolate Alfredo made them think that she’s also a human who makes mistakes. The OP added that people should watch the show to see how Amanda truly loves her sisters.
- “I’m not a fan of Amanda, but I don’t dislike her either. I can understand her frustration with her family, but the way she carries herself sometimes with the “I’m very badass” mentality is a little cringe.”
- “I adore Amanda. Is she perfect, no. But I truly think she has good intentions and really loves her family. She’s always so supportive of everyone’s journeys. Also, she’s hot as hell!!!”
- “Amanda’s just sick of babying her sisters. They need to be more independent and stop begging everyone else for help. I’ve never seen Amanda asking for help, it must be so emotionally draining for her, but the way she expresses herself doesn’t help.”
- “I don’t get the hate towards Amanda lately. Tammy was being ungrateful to the person that gave her a place to stay and even claimed to “bend over backwards” for everyone.”
- I think it’s all an act, she loves her family, someone has to be bossy since Tammy has toned down her bad attitude.
1000-lb Sisters: How’s Amanda Halterman Today?
Amanda is less active on social media than her sisters Tammy and Amy. One of the her last posts was back in August 2024, featuring clips from her weight loss journey. The 1000-lb Sisters star said, “Never forget the journey. Every step, every choice, every person who stood by your side—these are the moments that define your bariatric journey.”
