Why Bethenny Frankel Calls ‘RHONY’ Reboot ‘Trash’
What has compelled RHONY OG and alum, Bethenny Frankel to deem the reboot “trash” after two seasons? She has openly called out Bravo and its inner workings. Therefore, it makes sense she would slam the show that made her famous. Read on for why she knocked the reboot.
Bethenny Frankel Calls RHONY Reboot ‘Trash’
After Season 13 of RHONY, the show was in shambles. The cast was not clicking and OG star, Ramona Singer was called out for being racist. She and newcomer, Eboni K. Williams were struggling with each other and a reunion was up in the air. Then, it was canceled and the show never went on. Bravo had to decide its next steps while they put everything on hold. Ultimately, they chose to reboot the series completely with a whole new cast. They did want to do a legacy show with fan favorites but that did not happen.
Initially, the new cast fared decently but they never received the ratings the OGs did. There was a RHUGT RHONY Legacy edition which was very well received. Fans have wanted more since that came out but that has yet to happen. Yet one RHONY OG, Bethenny Frankel, has not wanted to help Bravo or their shows succeed in any capacity. She started her Reality Reckoning campaign with the belief reality stars should unionize. More so, she wanted to expose what they went through at the hands of the network. Now, she is slamming the reboot of the show that made her a household name.

According to Us Weekly, the Skinnygirl founder took to TikTok to give her take on the new cast:
“Justice for Sonja [Morgan], Dorinda [Medley], Luann [de Lesseps], Ramona [Singer]. They were ride or die. That show was on their back and all of a sudden they all got replaced. They were all sitting on the shelf like Toy Story, hoping someone was gonna come play with them.”
Bethenny Frankel has since deleted the video but it has found its way around where she suggested Bravo get back some of the original cast:
“You got like 200,000 viewers watching this piece of trash. So, go get the old girls and dust them off and mix them in. Humble pie is coming in hot.”
A Common Theme
Fans have been saying this about the reboot so it is not a novel idea coming from Bethenny Frankel. However, she has a very large fanbase so she did receive a lot of support:
- so glad she said it! What they did to OG RHONY is a disgrace, and even with an open mind trying to give new women a chance, PHONY sucks it’s so tryhard and inauthentic
- I immensely dislike Bethenny BUT she’s not wrong here. Andy’s too stubborn to admit he made a mistake revamping
- Bring sonja, ramona, luanne and dorinda back with brynn, jessel and erin! Id love bethenny too but she’s never gonna do it!!
So, fans are not saying they want the whole new cast gone, just a nice blend of both. That is fair and it might be fun to see.
