Diddy Accused Of Trying To ‘Taint’ The Jury Pool Before Trial
Sean “Diddy” Combs has been accused of many things over the last two months. He was arrested and charged with several crimes, including sex trafficking. Several women have sued him for sexual abuse claims. He has also been accused of blackmailing witnesses from behind bars. Now, he faces claims of trying to “taint” the jury in his case.
Here is what Sean Combs has been accused of pertaining to his trial.
Sean “Diddy” Combs Trying To Influence Jury In Case
Sean “Diddy” Combs faces many years in prison if found guilty of the crimes he has been accused of. As a result, he has reportedly taken it upon himself to find ways to swing things in his favor in the cast. One accusation was that he has been trying to blackmail and threaten witnesses. Now, he is accused of trying to “taint” the jury.
From the sound of it, prosecutors are claiming that Combs’ most recent attempt to get bail (his fourth attempt) should be denied. This time, instead of calling him a flight risk, they are claiming he is trying to “obstruct the investigation,”
In court documents (via CNN), Diddy made some phone calls from jail. Some of the calls were under telephone accounts held by other inmates, which is not allowed. According to the documents, Combs paid the other inmates via other people to allow him to make “hundreds” of phone calls and texts that violated the jail rules.
“While attempting to evade law enforcement monitoring, the defendant has, among other things, orchestrated social media campaigns that are, in his own words, aimed at tainting the jury pool; made efforts to publicly leak materials he views as helpful to his case; and contacted witnesses through third parties,” prosecutors allege in the bail hearing case.
Neither Sean Combs nor his attorneys have responded to these allegations.
When Is Sean “Diddy” Combs’s Trial?
Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested by federal officials in September and was indicted by a grand jury that same month. He faces counts of sex trafficking, racketeering, conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution. The court case claims he “abused, threatened and coerced women and others around him.”
Diddy pleaded not guilty, but his request for bail was denied three different times. He was remanded to Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center until his trial. His trial will start on May 5, 2025, and it is expected to last about a month.
