Mike Tyson Smacks Jake Paul, Security Steps In
Heavyweight-champion Mike Tyson is set to return to the ring to fight Jake Paul in Texas. Things already got heated between the two after Tyson was seen slapping Paul during a weigh-in. Things even still appeared to be heated even after the two were split up.
Mike Tyson’s Last Bout In The Ring Was In 2020
Mike Tyson first rose to prominence as a professional boxer in the 1980s. Considered one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time, Tyson notably holds a record as the youngest person to earn a heavyweight title.
This fight will mark Tyson’s return to the ring since 2020. Back then, he faced off against Roy Jones Jr.
Before becoming known as a professional boxer, Jake Paul first rose to prominence through videos on Vine and YouTube. As an actor, he is also known for appearing on the Disney Channel series, Bizaardvark.
During the weigh-in, Tyson appeared wearing Versace briefs weighing 228.4 lb. Paul, meanwhile, was at his career-heaviest at 227.2 lb.
As the two squared off against each other before the fight, Tyson managed to slap Paul. This sparked a brawl onstage before security got involved.

The two eventually had to be pulled apart. However, Paul could be seen laughing off the incident soon after.
As noted by The U.S. Sun, Tyson was seen being calmed down by his entourage. He could also be heard saying, “The talking’s over.”
The Fight Was Originally Meant To Take Place This Summer
The two were originally scheduled to fight in July. However, the event was delayed after Tyson suffered an ulcer flare.
There has been criticism over the fight due to the age difference between the two, as Tyson is 31 years older than Paul. On the other hand, some have argued that this also means that Tyson has years more experience than Paul.

Netflix has already been heavily promoting the fight on social media. In addition to sharing a video of the slap on X, the main X page for the streaming service was decorated with an advertisement for the fight. In addition, the main page also reads, “It’s Fight Week,” paired with a few boxing glove emojis.
