General Hospital announced a few months ago that they had recast the role of Lulu Spencer with All My Children alum Alexa Havins. GH viewers won’t have to wait long for the first glimpse of the new Lulu. Keep reading for all the details on her first air date.

Fans Not Happy That Sam Died So Lulu Could Live

Lulu Spencer has been in a coma on GH since 2020. The show made the decision to bring the character back but at a huge cost. Fans found out in August that actress Kelly Monaco was let go from the show. Her character, Sam McCall, died last week after undergoing surgery to donate her liver in a life-saving measure for Lulu.

While fans of the soap didn’t want Lulu Spencer to succumb to her illness, they can’t make sense of why it was necessary for Sam to die or the beloved actress to leave.

Alexa Havins’ First Airdate As Lulu Spencer Revealed

Kelly Monaco wasn’t the only one who lost her job in the show’s decision to bring Lulu out of her coma. Emme Rylan played the role from 2013 until 2020, when Lulu was injured and went into a coma. Fans had been asking her about returning to the show. She took to her Instagram in early August that she wasn’t asked back and the show was recasting the role.

GH announced in September that Alexa Havins would take over the role. ABC viewers might know her from All My Children, where she played Babe Carey Chandler from 2003 until 2007. She met her husband, Justin Bruening, on the show.

Viewers have been waiting for the actress to make her first appearance on the show. They won’t have to wait much longer. Alexa Havins’ first air date is Monday, November 18, according to Michael Fairman TV.

She Teases Upcoming Storyline

Lulu’s family was updated this week about her status after the life-saving transplant. Still in a coma Lulu’s doctor suggested that needed to go to a facility for long-term care. But Lulu’s mom, Laura (Genie Francis) insisted on a nearby facility and had a talk with her comatose daughter, encouraging her to wake up.

The actress has a featured interview in this week’s TV Guide Magazine. She teased the upcoming storyline with Lulu Spencer. “She’s waking up from a four-year coma, so we’ve got a lot of twists and turns and we hit the ground running.”

Lulu will have to deal with the fact that Sam lost her life to save her. Are you excited to see Alexa Havins make her GH debut? Share your reaction to the recast news in the comments.
