‘Jeopardy!’ Fans Thank Ken Jennings For Special Tribute
Jeopardy! fans are thanking Ken Jennings for a very special tribute. He has become a fan favorite and was able to take over as the solo host of the hit game show. So, what type of tribute did Ken pay that was so meaningful? Keep reading for more details.
Ken Jennings Pays Homage To A Legend
Ken Jennings had a long run as a Jeopardy! contestant and impressed now-late host, Alex Trebek. Trebek had spectacularly hosted the long-running game show for decades. When he fell ill, fans were devastated and questioned who could possibly take his place. Many different actors, comedians, and former contestants tried out to see who would be the best fit. It still never seemed right because he was irreplaceable. In the end, Ken was chosen as was actress and neuroscientist, Mayim Bialik. They were going to co-host and take over various versions of the game show.
Viewers tended to like Ken more than Mayim. He was patient and appeared to care for the contestants more than Mayim. Yet, others like Mayim’s approach but she exited when the writer’s strike started and remained off the series due to the SAG-AFTRA strike. Production started to see they did not need two hosts any longer so they axed Mayim and kept on Ken. However, the door was always open for Mayim to return yet Ken was much more reminiscent of Alex Trebek with his dry wit and likability. Now, Ken is honoring his predecessor and fans are loving it.

In an Instagram video, Ken Jennings paid tribute to Trebek on the fourth anniversary of his passing. He shared the last time he saw Trebek and what it was like. Ken had come to the show right before the pandemic and Trebek had just announced he had cancer. Sadly, he did not feel great but viewers would never know by the way he hosted. Trebek invited Ken backstage and shared how amazing the outpouring of support and love he received was. It was the kind many only received after they passed.

After Ken Jennings shared this story and paid tribute to Alex Trebek, Jeopardy! fans were blown away. They loved Ken even more than they had before and immediately headed to the comment section:
