Kevin Hart’s Ex-Assistant Shares How He Tried To Shut Her Up
Kevin Hart is suing his former personal assistant for an extortion scheme. However, this assistant is now calling out Hart with several accusations, including trying to “muzzle” her and not providing her with healthcare. She also said he has no evidence she is guilty of anything.
Here is what Hart sued his former personal assistant for and what she has said about him.
Kevin Hart Suing Former Personal Assistant For Extortion Scheme
Kevin Hart alleges he was the victim of an alleged extortion scheme. One of the people he named as being involved is his former personal assistant, Miesha Shakes. She worked for him from 2017 to 2020. In a recent court filing, she asked to be dismissed from the case.
According to the court documents, Miesha said Kevin asked the court to “engage in a fishing expedition” because he felt it would prove Miesha was involved. She said that he was trying to “sue/quash [Miesha’s] freedom of speech” and that there was no proof to back up his claims.
Hart sued Miesha and YouTuber Tasha K for civil extortion and invasion of privacy. He also sued Miesha for defamation and breach of contract. When Miesha spoke to Taska K for an interview, she shared secrets about Hart’s life. In the lawsuit, Kevin said one of Tasha K’s associates called and offered not to publish the interview if Hart paid $250,000.
Kevin Hart declined the offer and called the police. They also sent a cease-and-desist letter to Tasha K. At the same time, Miesha had signed a non-disclosure agreement when she quit working for him that barred her from speaking about him publicly.
Tasha published the interview on December 22, 2023, and Hart filed suit weeks later.
Miesha Shakes Makes Numerous Accusations Against Kevin Hart
Miesha Shakes didn’t just break her reportedly signed non-disclosure agreement in the YouTube interview. She is now speaking out about Hart publically again despite the ongoing lawsuit.
Miesha claims that Hart initially broke the non-disclosure. She said the deal said he would pay her $30,000 a year and provide her with medical insurance for three years. She said the deal was voided because he never provided the health insurance.
“[Kevin] failed to abide by their obligations under that document; therefore, [Kevin] cannot pursue [Miesha] for an alleged breach when it suits [Kevin’s] agenda,” her attorney said (via In Touch Weekly). As for his claims of invasion of privacy, her attorney said that he is trying to “muzzle” her, which she claims is “an alarming trend by celebrities who engage in bad behavior.”
Miesha also said she was dealing with mental health issues at the time she signed the NDA. She claims that Kevin knew she needed health insurance and funds, so he used that to get her to sign the agreement.
