‘Golden Bachelorette’ Joan Vassos Was Not Prepared For How She Felt
Golden Bachelorette Joan Vassos admits she was not prepared for how she felt during her journey. Having watched the show for many years, Joan initially felt ready when she went to begin her journey. However, as it turns out she was not really as prepared as she thought she was. Keep reading to find out what Joan had to say.
Joan Vassos Not Prepared For Emotions
When the Golden Bachelorette: Men Tell All special was filmed, Joan Vassos spoke with Entertainment Weekly about her journey. She revealed that she had watched The Bachelor for years. Even though it was the younger version she felt like it gave her some insight into what to expect.
However, once she got to the mansion and began going through her journey her thoughts on that changed. It turns out it was a completely different experience than she was expecting.
Joan said, “The emotions that I felt were way different than what I thought they would be. I didn’t think it was going to be this emotional. I felt like I was super ready and this was just going to be learning about the guys and dating them.” She continued, “I didn’t realize at all these emotions inside of me were going to bubble up.”
She Second-Guessed Herself
Golden Bachelorette Joan Vassos admits she wasn’t prepared like she thought she would be. Once she began having feelings for some of the men she second-guessed herself. Joan shared that she began having thoughts and saying, “I can’t do this. I still love John. How am I supposed to have feelings for other people? I can’t love two people.”
It took her speaking to a therapist who was on set to realize that it was okay to still love John and still love someone else too.
She also admits she wasn’t prepared to have feelings for more than one man. It’s something she never saw herself doing. However, once she began her journey and got to know and spend more time with the men on her season, she did develop feelings for more than one person.
In the end, Joan was able to sort it all out and figure out who she wanted to be with. Fans will see her final choice on Wednesday night when the season finale of The Golden Bachelorette airs on ABC.
