Country music star and actress Reba McEntire recently shared a photo of her famously fiery locks on National Redhead Day. However, the star ended up getting criticized by commenters. It was all due to the holiday’s timing this year. That said, others tried to take the post in good humor.

The Post Was Shared On An Important Day In The United States

The star made the post on X, formerly Twitter. She included two photos, showing off her hair in two different styles. As she wrote in the caption, “Long or short, either way I love being a redhead! #NationalRedheadDay.’

National Redhead Day falls on November 5. However, in 2024, it also coincided with Election Day. The day Americans vote for the next president typically falls on the Tuesday following the first Monday in November.

While many fans can appreciate McEntire take pride being in her own skin, some commenters felt this wasn’t the most timely post. As they felt, more attention should have been given to Election Day.

As one commenter wrote, “Read the room Reba.” Another shared that, “Reba, you know what we’re not going to do today? We’re not going to talk about your hairstyle.”

No Matter The Comments, Reba McEntire’s Getting Views

That said, some of the commenters were a bit more sympathetic, with a few they’ll wait until after the election to talk about her hair. As one fan wrote, “Now Reba baby I love you, but today ain’t it.” Another added, “Girl, we’ll talk about it tomorrow! Something else going on today!”

A few fans thought people were being a little too hard on the star and came to her defense. One wrote, “People really won’t let today be about anything else.” Another pulled a bit of a bait-and-switch. As they wrote, “REBA, READ THE ROOM!,” only to continue with, “Jk. We celebrate this day in my house.”

There were naturally a few fans who took the post at face value. One person shared a photo of themselves as a red-haired child. Another mused, “Bald is beautiful, too, Reba.”

As noted by TMZ, all the talk is at least giving the country music star some added attention. The publication noted that the post was viewed at least 6.7 million times.

McEntire has recently made her return to the spotlight in more ways than one. Since 2023, the star has served as a coach on The Voice. In addition, her new series, Happy’s Place, launched this past October, with many fans seeing it as a successor to her eponymous sitcom, Reba.
