‘Good Morning America’ Robin Roberts Makes Big Career Update
Robin Roberts is one of the popular hosts on Good Morning America. However, she has a lot more going on than that. She is also working as the founder of a production company that works on different storytelling content. This includes movies and TV shows and she has a new project going into production soon.
Here is what you need to know about the movie Robin Roberts will be producing in the near future.
Robin Roberts Producing Movie Biopic About Gloria Gaynor
Robin Roberts founded the production company Rock’n Robin Productions, which produces content for TV, movies, and more. The latest project coming from the company is a biopic that will air on the Lifetime network. This is a biopic movie about singer Gloria Gaynor.
Gaynor is a singer who got her big break in the 1970s when she released the monster hit “I Will Survive” in 1978. Gaynor, 81, has released 20 studio albums and 49 singles over her career. Now Roberts is making a movie about her life.
Tony Award winner Joaquina Kalukango (Paradise Square) will play Gloria in the biopic, which is only her third film. She also starred in One Night in Miami, where she played Betty X, Malcolm X’s wife. Lance Gross (Tyler Perry’s House of Payne) will play her husband (divorced in 2005), Linwood Simon (via Deadline).
The film is also coming much sooner than expected. It is set to hit Lifetime in 2025 and will be part of Lifetime’s “Voices of a Lifetime” movie slate. According to reports, the film will be titled I Will Survive: The Gloria Gaynor Story. Gaynor will record an original song for the film.
