‘Days Of Our Lives’ Hints At Drake Hogestyn’s Last Storyline
‘Days Of Our Lives’ premiered on NBC in 1965. The show is pulling out all the stops in honor of the show’s 60th anniversary. Viewers will see many fan favorites return, including Kristian Alfonso and Alison Sweeney. A new preview hints at Drake Hogestyn’s exit storyline. Keep reading for all the details.
Days Of Our Lives Turns 60, Fan Faves Return
It was announced last week that Days Of Our Lives was renewed through 2026. The soap moved from NBC to Peacock in 2022. The show just started its 60th season in August, and there is a lot more in store for viewers to mark the huge milestone.
The 60th season will see the death of Doug Williams after actor Bill Hayes passed away earlier this year. Doug’s funeral coincides with the show’s 15,000th episode. Several old-school characters are slated to return, including Stephen Schnetzer as Steve Olson and Gloria Loring as Liz Chandler. Melissa Reeves also returns as Jennifer Horton. But one character who won’t be there is John Black.
Fans will be happy to know that Kristian Alfonso comes home to mourn her father. While Peter Reckell isn’t back as Bo for Doug’s death, Bo & Hope are returning in episodes that will air in 2025. The preview clip for Season 60 features Hope and Julie having a heart-to-heart over Bo and Hope’s relationship.
Who Shot EJ?
Alison Sweeney teased that she is on her way back to Salem for an ‘unexpected’ storyline. The new preview reveals the shocking twist. Roman spills the truth to Johnny about EJ raping Sami years ago. Viewers may recall that EJ raped Sami at gunpoint in 2006.
The show rewrote the incident as a Luke & Laura-type “seduction” and eventually paired EJ and Sami together. The fallout from the revelation is that EJ gets shot, but who pulls the trigger?
Preview Hints At Drake Hogestyn’s Last Storyline
Longtime Days of Our Lives star Drake Hogestyn passed away in September after a battle with cancer. The show recently honored him by flashing his picture at the end and dedicating an episode in his memory.
However, since the show is filmed six months in advance, it will be a while until real life catches up with fiction. Fans have been wondering how the show will handle the actor’s death. The preview gives a few hints when Brady reveals that John is missing. Charles Shaughnessy returns as Shane as Marlena and Steve desperately seek answers.
