‘DWTS’ Peta Murgatroyd Weighs In On Coming Back
Is professional dancer Peta Murgatroyd returning to Dancing With The Stars in future seasons?
The Australian dancer has competed on 16 seasons of DWTS, winning the Mirrorball Trophy twice. While the exciting world of competitive ballroom dance will always hold a place in her heart, Peta and her husband Maks Chmerkovskiy have been busy raising their sons.
Peta previously said she would love to return for Season 33, but ultimately backed out. Is Season 34 in the cards for her?
Peta Murgatroyd Truly Misses Competing On DWTS
Maks Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd always dreamed of having a house full of children. After several heartbreaking miscarriages and a failed IVF journey, the couple managed to conceive their second and third sons naturally.
Their births were incredibly exciting for the family, but also wildly transformed their lives. They’ve been documenting their big family changes on their YouTube Channel, The Maks & Peta Show.
Maks and Peta welcomed their third son over the summer, which ultimately fueled her decision to step away from DWTS.
“This time around I did not go back because I really did feel like it was too early. I was five weeks postpartum with Milan when the show would have had me start, and I just didn’t think that my body or I was mentally there to be able to cope with something like that,” the dancer shared with Newsweek.
“I love Dancing With The Stars, if I could have done it this season, I would have because they’re my family, I’ve been with them since what I was 22,” Peta continued. “It’s been a long time that I’ve been around those people and I consider them part of my extended family.”

The Pro Dancer Hopes Execs Invite Her Back Next Year
Dancing With The Stars shakes up the cast list every year. Many pro dancers return, but some aren’t asked back. At this point, Peta isn’t sure what will happen next fall.
“Though the show is ever evolving and changing and they bring in new pros, so I don’t know if they will have me back, it’s a waiting game,” the dancer shared. “And if they don’t have me back, then that’s totally fine. Gosh, I’ve done 16 seasons with three children. So, I definitely had an amazing run on the show.”
