Celebrities get killed off all of the time and are the subject of death hoaxes. Then, they have to go on social media and clarify that they are in fact alive and kicking. They also have to try to figure out where these rumors started and why someone would even want to kill them off in the first place. Such was the case with former Wheel of Fortune host, Pat Sajak. He exited the long-running game show in June 2024 after more than forty years at the wheel. Pat announced his retirement in June 2023 and then a replacement search was on.
They then settled on Ryan Seacrest with Vanna White holding on until 2026. This was a questionable move as some wondered if she should exit with Pat. Was it time for the next generation of hosts? That was unclear but Pat did leave and many fans were not ready for the change. Yet, he had started to get angrier and more combative with the contestants so maybe it was all for the best. Pat was off to Hawaii as he was pulling out his acting chops but in the meantime, he was seemingly killed off.

According to Newsweek, Pat Sajak learned he had died when he was scrolling Twitter/X. On October 30th, he saw his name trending on the app so he just assumed he was deceased. As it turned out, a lot had to do with him sitting behind home plate at the World Series. Fans saw his face and started to tweet photos of him living his best life.

Abbott Elementary & The Return Of Wheel
As Pat Sajak assumed he was a ghost at the game, he had been reincarnated on Abbott Elementary. Chris Perfetti, who plays Jacob, dressed up as Pat for their Halloween contest. So, that was a very special treat. However, Pat’s fans should not worry about him being away from television for long. Come 2025, he will be back, hosting Celebrity Wheel of Fortune. It was set to air in October 2024 but there was a delay and it has been pushed to next year.
