Reba McEntire ‘Loves’ Trending Song Going Viral On TikTok
Reba McEntire has sold over 75 million albums worldwide. She has had over 100 singles chart on the Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart. Reba had 25 of those songs hit number one. However, one thing that she never expected was what happened on TikTok recently.
Reba McEntire Makes Appearance on The Tonight Show
Reba McEntire was on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon talking about her TV show, Happy’s Place, and her role as a coach on The Voice this season. However, the conversation also went to a TikTok trending song that happens to be one of Reba’s songs that is over 20 years old.
Before she starred on Happy’s Place, Reba McEntire had a different sitcom simply titled Reba in 2001. The theme song for that television series was a track called “I’m a Survivor.” While that song was released over 20 years ago, it found a new life in 2021.
That was the year that it became a trending song on TikTok. The way this works is that when a song starts trending on the social media network, it means people are using it over the background of something they record themselves doing. These moments are then collected and people can watch all the videos with the song as the thing linking them together.
For the Reba song “I’m a Survivor,” it was used to show people showcasing how they survive in their own lives. McEntire said she loves it when things like this happen, saying, “Heck yeah!” (via Daily Mail).
Reba McEntire Song That Trended On TikTok
Reba McEntire even took part in the trend herself when she posted her own TikTok video in July 2021 that showed her trying to feed some farm animals and mostly failing. She pinned this video on her account, and it has over 4.6 million likes.
Reba sad that she was the one who chose the song for Reba. “Yeah, it was a single for me, and then when we did the Reba show, we were kind of like, ‘What’s the music gonna be?’ Well, in the show, I’m a survivor. So, there’s the song.”
The song “I’m a Survivor” is a track about a premature baby who grows up to become a single parent. It hit No. 49 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was No. 3 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. The version used on Reba was an altered version of the song.
