Hoda Kotb Reveals Her Secret To True Happiness
Hoda Kotb is making her last moments with Today count. Over the weekend she hosted Making Space: A Wellness Weekend in Austin. Hoda is sharing her wellness journey that has led her to find true happiness. Kotb is taking what she has learned to teach others about prioritizing their well-being.
Hoda Kotb Shares Her Secret To Personal Growth
Hoda Kotb is sharing what she has learned, leading to a healthier version of herself. She hosted her annual event, Making Space: A Wellness Weekend, where she and other guest speakers shared some messages of personal growth. Attendees were able to go to panels that focused on self-improvement and interact with others. Events also focused on mindfulness exercises. Hoda said all of the guest speakers were hand-picked to make the event a success.
Kotb shared that the speakers helped her in her own happiness journey, saying:
“I think for me, it was realizing that I was someone who thought happiness was about going to the concert or having the drink with friends. And that was good. That was fun, nothing lasted. It lasted for the moments that I was doing the thing. So I think happiness isn’t the thing at the end or the club or sitting at the bar or throwing back a few drinks and you’re laughing and then three hours later you’re back to you. It’s about figuring out stuff that goes beyond that.”
Hoda said Arthur Brooks and Maria Shriver have helped her focus on what brings her true joy. She said they helped her realize what in her life was worth time, attention, and emotions. Kotb realized that her children take priority over work. She said she “wanted family to be bigger than work, but work was actually bigger.” Hoda realized she did not like the way her life was and she needed to make a change.
Kotb Made Some Big Changes To Her Life
Hoda Kotb did some hard work to realize that she needed to make some changes in her life to be happy. She said that different people helped her look at her life and figure out what was needed. Kotb decided to tell the truth about what needed to happen in her life to bring true relaxation and happiness. Kotb said:
“kind of got on a little bit of a wellness kick, thought I had everything under control. I was like, ‘I’m good. My life is amazing. I’ve got a great job. I’m running around. Everything’s good.’ I’m exercising, I’m eating right. I felt healthy, I felt physically good, but somehow it wasn’t ringing the bells.”

So what made the difference for Hoda? For Hoda, she found great stress relief in breathing exercises, meditation, and going to healing places. She said, “all of a sudden,” her life “felt physically, emotionally, and all the way spiritually stronger, adding that “this feels good.”
Hoda kept walking down that path and found that she was gaining true happiness in her life. Hoda’s three-day wellness event had all of the things that helped her be successful, including classes on breathwork, meditation, and yoga.
