Here is what you need to know about The Real Full Monty.

The Real Full Monty Coming To Fox

The Real Full Monty is a stage show based on the British television specials that started airing in 2017. While ITV canceled the special in 2024, the United States announced it would make its version of the series the same year. The original Full Monty was a 1997 British comedy movie about six unemployed men who started a male striptease act and became a major hit.

The movie won the BAFTA Award for Best Film. It also received Oscar nominations for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Original Musical or Comedy Score. It won the musical award and spawned a Broadway musical with the same name.

American fans can now watch the stage show with familiar faces in the production. Airing on Fox, the American version will raise money to  “raise awareness for prostate, testicular and colorectal cancer testing and research.”

The special on Fox follows the stars as they train and rehearse for their big numbers. Mandy Moore (So You Think You Can Dance) choreographs the number. The men will perform it in front of a live audience. Throughout the episode, “each of the celebrities will share personal stories of how cancer has impacted their lives.”

What To Expect From The Real Full Monty On Fox

According to the original announcement (via Variety), Anthony Anderson leads Diggs, Jones, Posey, Tonioli, and James Van Der Beek as they train for the big dance.

The release also says the men will “push their limits of comfortability, modesty, and brotherhood with a series of rehearsals and experiences, both private and public, designed to build confidence and remove them far from their comfort zone and strengthen their bond as a group.”

Anderson said he was “honored” to lead the men in this endeavor to “bare it all” to help inspire people to get cancer screenings.
