‘DWTS’ Ilona Maher Details Scary Incident With Stranger At Salon
Olympic Rugby player Ilona Maher may be incredibly strong and fierce, but even she has her frightening encounters now and then. As her run on Dancing With The Stars continues, the 28-year-old bravely opened up about a scary incident with a complete stranger at a nail salon.

Ilona Maher Had An Unnerving Encounter While Getting Her Nails Done
After a visit to the nail salon, Ilona Maher decided to open up about an experience she wanted to spread awareness about. She loves getting her nails done, but this visit almost went poorly.
“As I was in there, employees were leaving, all the customers were gone, it was just me and two ladies,” Ilona shared with her TikTok followers. “But as I was getting it done, this guy walks in and asks for a pedicure as well so they sit him down and we’re both getting worked on.”
The Rugby player happily complied since she was getting regular polish, which takes longer to dry than her usual gel nails. But as the clock ticked on, Ilona felt puzzled as to why the nail technicians wouldn’t let her leave. She estimated she sat and waited for around 30 extra minutes. After the man left, the workers admitted there was another reason they wanted her to stay longer.
“And then they said, ‘Sorry we kept you so long, we just wanted you to be here with us while he was there,’ ” Ilona continued. “And I was like, I totally understood then why they did that.”
After leaving the salon, the Olympian ran into the man outside. He reportedly asked to go home with her, which she quickly shut down. Nevertheless, Ilona still felt a little shaken by the encounter.
“Seriously, stay safe ladies,” she shared.
