Emily Maynard Johnson Looks Back On Life Changing Moment
Bachelorette Emily Maynard Johnson has a lot to be thankful for but it was a tragic moment that led her to her current life. She went to Instagram to share her thoughts. At the young age of 18, she lost her fiancé Ricky Hendrick in a plane crash. It was 2004 when the NASCAR driver faced his untimely passing when his plane went down. It happened shortly before Emily even knew she was pregnant with his child.
Now, it’s been 20 years since he died and she’s looking back on it all. Emily shared a black and white photo of her and Hendrick and a very heartfelt post.
She began her post by saying,
20 years. How did this even happen? It’s so strange to have a specific marker in time that completely changed my life and soul forever. I look at pictures and don’t even recognize that girl anymore, no matter how much I wish I could.
The former Bachelorette continued her very touching post by adding that she’s changed so much in those twenty years but also somewhat feels like she was paralyzed at age 18 forever. Emily said,
In one hand I feel like I’ve changed so much and then in the other, that I’ve been paralyzed at age 18 forever.
She Can’t Wait For Ricky To Meet Tyler Johnson
Emily Maynard Johnson went on to say in her post that she can’t wait to introduce her first love to her now husband Tyler. She went on to say she knows they will love each other and also that she knows Ricky must be so grateful at how well Tyler has taken care of his girls. Of course, she’s referring to her daughter Ricki.
Emily ended her post by saying, “Thank you, God, for letting me be a part of his life and for allowing me the gift of being loved by him.”
Her mom commented on the post as well saying that Ricky had been a beautiful soul taken too soon.
