Are You A Good Witch Or A Bad Witch?

Taking to Instagram, Maggie, the daughter of former host Pat Sajak, shared photos of her different Halloween costumes on the show. Notably, the two different costumes combined elements from Wheel of Fortune with a set of classic characters.

In the first photo, Sajak appears in her “good witch” costume. Wearing a diaphanous, pink dress, Sajak paired the look with a tiara and wand. She also visibly wears a pair of silver shoes, bringing to mind Dorothy’s famous slippers from the original book. Eagle-eyed viewers may also notice that Sajak’s skirt is decorated with prize wedges, like the ones as seen on the wheel.

As noted by Parade, the second photo has Sajak showing off her “bad witch” costume. This time, she donned a black dress with green accents, boots, and topped it off with a tiny witch’s hat. This time, the dress was decorated with wedges players wouldn’t want to get, including the “Bankrupt” wedge. Notably, these decorations, which even include a sash, are all the more visible with the ensemble’s dark colors.

The tribute to the witches of Oz is all the more timely as the Wicked movie will be released this upcoming November. Based on the Gregory Maguire book and Broadway musical of the same name, Wicked offers an origin for the Wicked Witch of the West, known as “Elphaba,” exploring her early friendship with Glinda the Good Witch.

The 2024 film stars Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda. The film will be released in two parts, with the second coming out in November 2025.
