Kevin O’Leary Shares Feelings On Mark Cuban’s Exit
Kevin O’Leary got emotional about his friend’s exit from Shark Tank. Mark Cuban announced his exit from the franchise in November 2023. O’Leary who is close to Cuban said he was disappointed to see his friend leave. Kevin expressed that the real star of the show is the entrepreneurs.
“They will go on and on and on and on, and that’s what we all understand and our job is to nurture them, fund them, try and pick the winners — because we don’t get it right all the time — and provide the platform and be those ambassadors for the American dream.” O’Leary continued “I’m going to run into Mark a lot, first of all, we have a bunch of deals over 16 years working together. But also, he’s out on a venture trail. So am I. We run into each other all the time. I consider him a close friend. I mean, he’s come to my home and met my kids. What else do we do after 16 years?”
Kevin and Mark will still be able to see each other post-Shark Tank. They have multiple investment ventures together. The pair also have developed a personal relationship over the years of working together. O’Leary may be upset over not working with Cuban but it is not the end of their relationship.
Mark Cuban Explained Why He’s Leaving Shark Tank
After being on Shark Tank for a decade and a half Cuban expressed that “It’s time” to move on. Mark explained, “This is our 15th year, and next year, our 16th year, is gonna be my last year, So I got one more year to go.” Mr. Cuban expressed that he has a love for the entrepreneurs.
“I love it because it sends the message [that] the American dream is alive and well. I feel like in doing Shark Tank all these years, we’ve trained multiple generations of entrepreneurs that if somebody can come from Iowa or Sacramento or wherever, and show up on the carpet of Shark Tank and show their business and get a deal, it’s going to inspire generations of kids. That’s what happens, right?”
Cuban has enjoyed his time helping entrepreneurs grow their businesses. His charisma has helped the Shark Tank franchise grow and be successful. It will be sad to no longer see him on screen. Hopefully, he will start a new project now that he has extra time on his hands.
