Actress Gabrielle Union recently made an appearance at the 2024 Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles. While there, the actress stunned on the red carpet. However, fans were also startled by a change in her appearance, noting it on social media.

Gabrielle Union Made An Impression With Sequins

Starting her career in sitcoms like Friends and Sister, Sister, Union first made a name for herself appearing in late 1990s teen movies. Her big breakout role was considered the cheerleading teen comedy Bring It On.

Since then, Union has become known for her roles in film like Deliver Us from Eva, Daddy’s Little Girls, Think Like a Man and its sequel. She also notably starred in the BET drama series Being Mary Jane. Outside of her acting roles, she also notably served as a judge for America’s Got Talent during its fourteenth season.

This past Sunday, the actress appeared at the 2024 Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles. She could be seen donning a a purple, sequin-covered Elie Saab gown, paired with a stone necklace. She appeared with her husband, basketball player, Dwyane Wade.

Union uploaded photos of the event with her husband on her Instagram account. In the comments, many fans praised her outfit.

However, some fans were also shocked by Union’s facial appearance, with some suspecting she has undergone cosmetic changes. As noted by The U.S. Sun, Fashion Bomb Daily shared a post of the event. One Instagram user wrote, “Why would she do this to her face? I am devastated.”

Some Fans Suspect It Was All Just Makeup

One asked, “Why did she mess with her face?” Another chimed in, “I hate those fillers. She was aging beautifully.”

However, other commenters suggested the actress was just using contour makeup. One mused that, “I hope that’s just a really sharp cheek contour and not buccal fat removal.” Another simply wrote, “Please be the makeup.”

In 2016, the actress previously talked about her own ant-aging secrets with Elle magazine. At the time, Union said that one of her secrets was Organic camellia. As she shared, “It’s a blessing and a curse to have oily skin, but I’m starting to believe it’s like embalming fluid that’s sort of keeping me youthful looking. I also thought you shouldn’t treat oil with oil, but I started using this oil.”

“It’s really transformed my skin. I started using it this summer when we were filming Sleepless Nights in Atlanta, and I swear by it. I’ve told everybody about it. I’m not a paid spokesperson, but this oil is a godsend. It’s amazing. And it’s just a couple drops, and I’ve used it on my neck or my face.”
