Katy Perry’s ‘Scrambling To Reclaim’ ‘American Idol’ Judge Position
After just barely being away from American Idol, Katy Perry is already ‘scrambling to reclaim’ her position as a judge. Since her spot has already been taken, will she push her way in?
Katy Perry’s Career Path Is In For A Bumpy Ride
Katy Perry has had a long road to fame. Her father was a preacher in San Francisco. Katy even sang in his church choir before making it big with Califonia girls and Fireworks. She also married actor Russel Brand. That marriage fell apart after a couple of years.
Is Carrie Underwood About To Get The Rug Taken Out From Under Her?
After leaving American Idol to focus on her music career, Katy Perry has done just that. The singer has already released an album, 143. However, it has not done well on the chats. In addition, fans are allegedly calling it “outdated” and “desperate.” It seems the performer is not able to keep up with the changing interests of pop listeners.
A source revealed to Life & Style that “American Idol was a safe, steady gig for Katy.” Even if Perry would like to return to her easy gig, Carrie Underwood has taken her spot. The host, Ryan Seacrest, loves her along with the fellow judges. Also, she assumingly has a contract to last through the rest of the current season.
The insider also stated, “Now that her album has flopped, she’s scrambling to reclaim her spot at the judges’ table. It’s a clear sign even she knows her days as a chart-topping artist are behind her.” Additionally, they expressed, “But Carrie’s got the gig now — and unless the new season is a ratings disaster, there’s no way Katy is getting back in that chair!”
Katy Perry Is No Longer Climbing The Charts
Furthermore, “Women’s World” from Perry’s new album 143 reportedly landed on the Billboard Hot 100, but only at number 63. This is probably unexpected for the hitmaker as she is number two on the list of most diamond singles, just below Rihanna, who has 6. With this, she does not stand a chance at competing with major pop star Taylor Swift.
Allegedly, Orlando Bloom has been steering Perry in the wrong direction, as the insider explains, “It’s not rocket science, but Katy clearly miscalculated by listening to her husband for advice on her pop career!”
With her previous albums, Smile, which was released in 2020, and Witness, which was released in 2017, not doing as well as her early hits, along with her newest one, Perry is back on the drawing board. Fans are hoping for a comeback, but it seems Perry is giving up and taking the easy road back to American Idol.

Katy Perry made her choice and her decision to leave American Idol .
There is a replacement in place . She gave up her position . She shouldn’t expect it back .
Katie Perry needs to retire. There is no comparison with Carrie Underwood. American Idol made the right choice.
you are absolutely correct. she got too whiny on American idol to the point where I stopped watching it because she was too dramatic.
I liked Katy Perry….. thought the three of them were a great team. Let’s see how Carrie does…..then see who’s the better fit!!!!! 😉
I loved Katie on AI.
She was funny and witty.
She gave up her position though and now Carrie Underwood has it.
Sorry Katie
