Ella Gaines The Star In Mom Joanna Gaines Newest Home Video
Joanna and Chip are parents to five children. Over the weekend the HGTV star Joanna posted to Instagram celebrating her daughter Ella’s 18th Birthday. Gaines shared a new home video of her family home in Waco Texas all done up for the celebration. The home had been decorated with beautiful blue and white helium balloons and a banner wishing Ella a Happy Birthday.
Joanna Celebrates Ella’s Big Day
In Joanna Gaines’s newest home video, she shares the celebratory decor for her daughter Ella. Ella turned 18 on October 20th. She was treated with a big pile of presents neatly arranged on the dining room table. Joanna captioned the video “One more sleep til our Ella is 18! My how time flies.” Ella is the oldest daughter of the Gaines children.
Ella Gaines’s Birthday this year is likely a bittersweet one as this time next year she will be off to college. Ella’s older brother Drake who is 19 is already attending college at Baylor University. Ella is also a sibling to Duke age 16, Emmie age 14, and Crew age 6.

Birthday Season For The Gaines
Ella Gaines isn’t the only one to celebrate a milestone Birthday this year. Joanna Gaines will be turning 50 on November 14th. Joanna and Chip very rarely share photos of the children, however, they occasionally share updates on the kids and what kind of parents they are.
Chip has shared that he is the more strict parent, while Joanna is the more laid-back parent. He said…
“I grew up in an environment that was pretty much ‘back by dark’ — [my parents] didn’t generally know what we were doing, and it was all good, clean fun. So I thought, ‘Oh, I’m gonna be a wild parent.’ And when I got to be a parent, I don’t know what it is about it … I feel a little bit like a drill sergeant sometimes. Some elements of my personality, as a parent, I’m not real crazy about.”
Joanna chimed in…
“It’s funny, I’m a little more laid back than I thought I’d be. [There are] certain things that I really care about, but I think the funny part, with Chip, is just the video games, the TV. That’s where he kinda gets a little strict. It’s, ‘You go play outside.'”
Chip and Joanna Gaines celebrate 21 years of marriage this year. They celebrate their wedding anniversary on May 31st. Joanna posted to Instagram “Twenty One Years. You’ve always had a way of taking a thought or a quiet dream I’ve tucked away, and helped me step into it and make it a reality.” She continued “What a journey, a wild and crazy (yet somehow peaceful) ride. So grateful to God for this life we get to share together.” The pair are crazy about each other and fans love their dynamic.
