Gypsy Rose Blanchard Shares Sadness Over Mom Missing 1st Baby
Gypsy Rose Blanchard recently expressed sadness over her mother missing out on her first baby. Her daughter is due in January 2025 and she is very excited to meet her. Unfortunately, one person will be missing from the celebration. Keep reading for more on what Gypsy had to say.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard Is Sad Her Mom Is Not Her For Baby Girl
When Gypsy Rose Blanchard found out she was pregnant, followers were shocked. She was and is still married to her husband, Ryan Scott Anderson. More so, she had just reconnected with the baby’s father, Ken Urker. They had been engaged when she was in prison but it ended and she never understood why. She believed she was not good enough or he could not handle the fame. Her stepmother, Kristy Blanchard explained that he loved her enough to let her go. He never expected her to fall in love and get married. Gypsy was serving a decade for the murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard.
She was released early after 85% of her sentence had been served and had gotten married behind bars. Yet, Ken Urker was always the one who got away. When Ryan became too controlling and jealous of her spending time with her father, she knew it was over. Shortly after Gypsy and Ken started chatting again, she became pregnant and now, they are expecting a baby girl. They appeared on The Viall Files with Nick Viall on Wednesday, October 16th. There, she opened up about not having her mom meet her first child.
This is her second time on the podcast, the first was right when she was released and married to Ryan. She will be divorced sometime in October but had this to say about her late mother, per E! News:
“For me, it is heartbreaking. I do from time to time think about what could’ve been. And it makes me sad. So, I put that in the back of my mind.”
Of course, the subject has come up as to what she will tell her daughter about Dee Dee. It seems Gypsy may not be completely transparent:
“Everybody asks the question, ‘What are you gonna tell your daughter whenever Grandma isn’t around?’ My response to them is that Kristy has become more of a mother to me than my own mother was. So, Kristy is going to be Grandma.”
Fan Backlash
After fans heard The Viall Files interview with Gypsy Rose Blanchard and Ken Urker, they had a lot of thoughts. Though she said she was heartbroken that her mom would not meet her daughter, they also knew why she would never meet her:
- Ummmm has she forgotten the reason WHY her mother won’t know her kid?
- Because of you girly!!! It’s not like her mom just passed away. She was freaking Murdered!
Others believed that, even if Dee Dee Blanchard was alive, she should not be near the baby:
- Maybe just me, but even if she were alive I don’t think I would be hoping for any type of relationship between Dee and the baby.
- Well, that’s probably best considering she would probably try to treat the baby the same way she treated Gypsy as a child.
Being Gypsy’s baby, she will end up learning what happened to her grandmother. However, hopefully, she will have love, support, and all that she needs to deal with this horrific situation.

I completely understand where Gypsy is coming from. If her mother was still alive she would try her best to be in charge of that little girl, NOT what Gypsy or that baby needs. DeeDee was an EVIL person. She only care about herself and she USED people to get what she wanted. She was not woman enough together out and work to support her daughter. Yes, it is sad that Gypsy had to go to such extreme links to get away from her mother but Gypsy was only a pawn and a way to get money without DeeDee having to work. Gypsy never would have been free of DeeDee any other way. Gypsy is going to be a GREAT mom and she has all the support she needs to accomplish that feat.
