Shocking Golden Bachelorette Elimination

Mark Anderson and viewers were blindsided when Joan Vassos sent him home in the latest Golden Bachelorette episode. Many fans thought he was the frontrunner to win. He confessed to the cameras before his elimination that he thought his connection with Joan was strong, but she clearly didn’t feel the same way.

With just a few weeks left, she had to make the hard decision and eliminate the suitors she didn’t feel a connection with. In addition to Mark, she sent home “Girl Dad” Keith Gordon and Jonathan Rone. Guy Gansert, Chock Chapple, Jordan Heller, and Pascal Ibgui head to Hometown Dates. One of those four men could possibly be the second great love of Joan’s life.

Fans Speak Out Against Mark Anderson As Golden Bachelor

In an emotional Instagram post, Mark Anderson spoke about how The Golden Bachelorette changed his life, even if he wasn’t right for Joan. But some cynical Bachelor Nation fans think that he was never a serious consideration for her and was placed on the show by producers. Why? To be the next Golden Bachelor.

Fans have been clamoring for Mark to get the role since he made a brief appearance on Joey Graziadei‘s season of The Bachelor. But after seeing him on Joan’s season, a small number of fans no longer think he’s right for The Golden Bachelor. Why not?

Some fans said that Mark Anderson was too quiet to take on the role of the lead. Check out some of the other comments on a Reddit thread:

  • “I love Mark but I don’t think he should be golden bachelor. Not only do I think he’s a bit more on the reserved side, but he’s only 57
  • “Mark looks like every single scam friend request I get on Facebook that appears to be some sort of widowed doctor.”
  • “I hope mark is not the next golden bachelor. like many have said, he seems dull
  • “I just don’t find him exciting to watch at all and I feel like they didn’t really have a connection so I agree it felt very forced for him to even be there this long”
  • “I think they desperately wanted Mark to be the guy, but he was a little dull this season. Think they will probably reconsider and go with another option.”

  1. Unlike some fans, I don’t find Mark dull. I think he engages, wanted to see more of him and was disappointed when he went home. He appears to have a personable mix of easygoing quietness and friendly talkativeness. His temperament might shine, emerge and pleasantly surprise if he has the spotlight. What’s not memorable to me is always watching outgoing leads. I’d like to see a different Golden Bachelor.

  2. Mark was as interesting as watching paint dry! I liked him as Kelsey’s dad but on the golden he doesn’t even react with the men like the rest do. if he’s the next bachelor, I for one, won’t be watching.

    1. First of all, Mark is middle aged and much too young to be golden. The women contestants would have to range from maybe the mid-40’s to very early 60’s. That age range is not exactly golden either. The absolute minimum for the golden Bachelor should be 60. He is a good looking man and appears to be very nice, but much too reserved also. Jonathan would be a much better choice.

  3. Mark is a heck of a nice guy but he lacks the pizaz you need to be on a show for weeks as the main star. It was painful to watch him on the boat with Joan. Keep looking for next Golden Bachelor. Give us someone new not leftovers from shows.

  4. Isn’t it just time to retire this unreality show? There is nothing about it that is going to work. And Gerry Turner? Banish him to east Tunisia. They being in “suitors” from all over the country but who is going to move away from their grandkids to be with someone they met 6 weeks ago? It’s not realistic it is boring
