Rachael Ray Vows Big Changes For Podcast After Health Scare
Famous chef and TV personality Rachael Ray recently announced her first upcoming podcast, I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead. The schedule for the first few episodes, in addition to guests, has even been revealed. Notably, this announcement comes out around the time Ray has revealed health concerns on social media.
The Pocast Will Focuses On What Helps To ‘Fuel’ Ray
Rachael Ray served as the host of her own eponymous talk show from 2006 to 2023. She is also known for her work on various Food Network shows, such as 30 Minute Meals, Rachael Ray’s Tasty Travels, and $40 a Day.
Ray’s podcast with feature her talking with celebrities, including musicians and other chefs. The series will focus on “what fuels us — our drive, resilience, and how we face life’s challenges.”
The podcast will touch on things like “the highs and lows of hard work, sharing raw, honest stories with people she knows and those she’s meeting for the first time.” It’s also been promised that no issue would be “off-limits.”
According to People, Ray released the following statement, “I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead (quite literally!) is about life’s journeys and what keeps us going.” She continued, “It’s unscripted, raw, and real talk. Working fuels me, connecting with people fuels me, and this platform allows for connection and conversation on a more personal level, which really fuels me.”
Notably, the podcast also comes out after the end of her talk show. In a statement with People, Ray admitted she likes to keep herself busy. As she shared, “I love to work. I love it.” As she continued, “I love to have my brain very active, and if I’m not writing shows, I’m drawing ‘foodles’ I call them — recipes on paper — and writing books and things.” As she summed it up, “I don’t like being idle. I’ve never been good at it.”
Some Of Ray’s Guests Will Include Jenny Mollen & Billy Porter
A few of Ray’s upcoming guests are already known. An October 22 episode will feature actress and writer Jenny Mollen, as they discuss love and marriage. The following week, Ray will speak with The Morning Show actor Billy Crudup. Other upcoming guests include Anne Burrell, Jacques Pepin, Jeremy Sisto, and Billy Porter.
The news of the podcast comes out after fans have recently become concerned over the star’s health. During a preview of her series Rachael Ray in Tuscany, she appeared to slur her words.
As noted by People, Ray previously was the subject of rumors that she was undergoing treatment for throat cancer. At the time, her representative, Charlie Dougiello, said she was “the picture of health.” He explained, “She is having very minor surgery to remove a benign cyst on her vocal cord. It’s a common in-and-out procedure that she will have in early December and it will not adversely affect any of her daytime show or Food Network tapings.”
Many fans also suspect that Ray’s comments on offering “real talk” means she will discuss these health scares on the podcast. Even if rumors prove untrue, she could use the platform to assure fans what is really going on in her life.
