Liam Payne 911 Call Shows Insight Into Last Moments
Before the passing of Liam Payne, a hotel manager’s 911 call has come to light. In the call, a hotel manager tries to explain the situation to an operator before sending police to the scene. Local authorities have also released a statement over Payne’s death following what happened.
A Manager Claimed Payne Had Been In His Room For Two To Three Days
The One Direction star fell from the balcony of a third-floor room while at the CasaSur Hotel in Palermo, Buenos Aires. Payne was 31 at the time of his death.
Shortly before his death, a hotel manager had made a 911 call, claiming the star was destroying his room. The call was made around 5 PM Wednesday.
A transcript of the call was posted by La Nacion. As noted by TMZ, the operator started the call asking about the emergency. The manager claimed that a guest was “overwhelmed with drugs and alcohol” and needed assistance after they were breaking things in their hotel room. The operator has questioned the claims about drugs and alcohol, but the manager reportedly confirmed it and asked for help.
It was noted that the One Direction star had been staying in the hotel room for two to three days and staff was unable to get in. The manager was also concerned about the guest’s life. As the manager claimed, “We need someone to be sent urgently because, well, I don’t know if the guest’s life is at risk.” Eventually, the operator said that the police would be on their way.
The City Police Also Issued A Statement Over Payne’s Death
Tragically, by the time police had arrived at the scene, however, Payne had already fallen from the balcony and was found dead. An investigation was launched to determine the circumstances of Payne’s death, including if it was accidental or a suicide.
As noted by La Nacion, the City Police officially formally announced Payne’s death at around 6:10 PM. The following statement read, “British musician Liam James Payne, composer and guitarist, former member of the band One Direction, died today when he fell from the third floor of a hotel in Costa Rica at 6000 in the Palermo neighborhood.”
“When the officers arrived, the manager stated that he felt a loud noise in the rear internal lung of the hotel, and when the officers arrived they verified the death of a man who had thrown himself from the balcony of his room.”
As previously reported, Payne was in Argentina to meet his former One Direction bandmate, Niall Horan. At the time, Horan was performing at a concert.
