After years of looking for love on reality TV, Katie Thurston finally found it in the most unlikely place: a comedy show. The former Bachelorette met comedian Jeff Arcuri while she was kicking off a career as a stand-up comic. They got engaged last month. She dished to fans about whether she sees children in their future and her dream wedding.
Jeff Arcuri’s Romantic Proposal
Katie Thurston teased in May that she was dating someone new. But due to her very public breakups, she was keeping it quiet until after they’d been dating for three months. She hard-launched her relationship with comedian Jeff Arcuri in June.
He popped the question during a romantic trip to Hawaii. Katie Thurston shared photos and videos on her social media. She didn’t seem to expect the proposal, but happily ran to the camera to show off her new sparkler.
Bachelorette Star Shares How Wedding Planning Is Going
Katie Thurston has been sharing her ups and downs with fans since she was a contestant on The Bachelor in 2021. She shared the heartbreaking news in August that her beloved cat, Tommy, passed away. She also detailed the struggle of trying to get justice after being raped last year.
Her fans were happy to know that Katie Thurston had someone to lean on during these hard times. She opened up her DMs to questions recently. According to Bachelornation.com, the reality TV star was asked about where the couple plan to wed.
“As much as I love the Pacific Northwest, anyone who’s from there knows that the weather is very unpredictable. So, right now — and things can change obviously — but my heart is leaning towards Northern California.”
Katie moves to Los Angeles to start her comedy career. But now that she’s engaged, she’s in the process of relocating to New York City, where Jeff Arcuri is based when he’s not touring.
Katie Thurston Opens Up About Idea Of Having Kids With Fiance
Throughout her time on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, Katie Thurston was honest about not being sure if she ever wanted kids. She recently shut down a fan who asked if they should expect a pregnancy announcement soon.
But now that Katie Thurston has found her person, her thoughts on having kids have evolved. She explained, “When I had mentioned I wasn’t sure if I wanted kids at the time, that was mainly because I had yet to picture a person, a partner, to have children with. You know I think that’s probably the first step, is finding someone you would actually enjoy raising children with.”
She added that she’s now open to having kids or possibly adopting. Katie Thurston said her fiance supports her no matter what she decides.
