‘Jeopardy!’ See Revamped Set For Season 41 (Pics)
Jeopardy! is back with season 41 of the fan-favorite game show, and there have been some significant tweaks to the set, including some design changes, and more. So, what can fans expect to see when they tune in to new episodes of the show?
Jeopardy! Is Back With Season 41
Following a brief hiatus, Jeopardy! and other game shows returned with new episodes, to the delight of longtime fans. Host Ken Jennings is back to see who has what it takes to be the next champion. Contestants can go from putting together long streaks to getting dethroned after a single win. Anything can happen, as fans regularly see.
With Jeopardy! back and in the full swing of things following the brief hiatus, fans are already seeing a lot of changes to things. While making changes to a long-running game show like this is often met with all sorts of criticism, some revamps can certainly be an improvement.
See All-New Tweaks To Game Show Set
With game shows like Jeopardy!, The Price Is Right, Family Feud, and more, these programs are all about tradition. Many of the fanbases who watch these shows take an “if it isn’t broken, don’t fix it” approach to things. Viewers tend to like consistency, and that often means not rocking the boat all too often.
It turns out, there are some changes to the Jeopardy! set which coincides with the latest episodes on the air, and viewers are taking notice. One of the most obvious changes is the new game board. Instead of each category and dollar value having its own monitor, it’s now one giant screen for everything. The categories are now highlighted as well, which will make it easier for viewers at home to keep track.
There is even updated music when host Ken Jennings introduces the categories. This is in addition to a gold tint around the monitor closest to Ken Jennings. This adds a bit more aesthetic to the whole thing. So, while these changes are not necessarily drastic, they are noticeable enough for viewers to pay attention.
Jeopardy! Fans React To New Changes
Even though game shows with decades of tradition tend to be resistant to change, especially when it comes to the fanbase, viewers are surprisingly on board with many of these tweaks. While many don’t like anyone messing with their favorite programs, most are open to these tweaks, as they seem to be improvements, at least on the surface.
- One commenter said: “Jeopardy is back with its upgraded set tonight. Looking nice!”
- Another game show watcher said: “I LOVE that they listened to the fans and inserted a category highlight marker after a contestant verbally says what it is they’re interested in, because those of us at home can’t always believe what we just heard and have to double-check to make sure their selection matches up with what we think we just heard.”
