Britney Spears Announces She's Writing New Book

Singer Britney Spears has announced that she is currently writing a new book. Taking to social media, Spears gave a few hints at what the book will be like. This included a list of her favorite female celebrities.

The Singer Described Six Women Who Inspired Her

Spears recently talked with Instagram Stories to talk about the upcoming book. Described as “novel,” the book is expected to be a follow-up to her memoir, The Woman in Me.

In the passage, Spears shared a list of women she admired and inspired her, possibly giving a hint at what the book will be like. As the caption wrote, “Women I genuinely admire and have crazy girl crushes on…I have girlfriends I hang out with every now and then but it’s not the same as when we were younger!!! But why isn’t it??? I wanted to share the women who inspire me!!!”

The singer started the list with Pamela Lee Anderson, describing her as a “classic babe and seems so sweet.” She then mentioned Natalie Portman. Spears then shared that she had met Portman in New York with her dog and was surprised to see they were wearing the same shirt.

Camila Cabello was the next inspiration to be revealed. Spears wrote that Cabello was “so darn pretty and she makes me giggle out loud.” She later mentioned “her personality is so sweet and kooky I think it’s healthy to be silly.” She also admitted she wished she was more like Cabello in these regards.

Spears then mentioned Kendall Jenner, even asking, “Is it even normal to be that pretty?” The singer finished the list by naming Selena Gomez and Drew Barrymore, describing both as “literally gorgeous!”

Years Prior, Spears Shared A Supernatural Story She Was Working On

The post concluded with confirmation that Spears was working on her next book. As she shared, “Honestly, I have no idea why I’m writing all this!!! I’m away writing my novel and learning about myself. But I do so miss being silly with the girls!!!”

Back in 2021, Spears noted she had plans to write a book with a supernatural theme. As she explained on Instagram, the intended story was “about a girl⁣ who was murdered…yet her ghost gets stuck in limbo because of trauma and pain and she doesn’t know how to cross over to the world she use to know.”

“After being stuck in limbo for three years, she is a ghost who thrives off of her reflection in her mirror for existence!!!” At this time, it’s unclear if this is the book Spears was more recently talking about or a new one.

As noted by People, Spears had worked on a variety of books over the years. With her mother Lynne Spears, for example, she released Heart to Heart in 2000. The following year, they released another collaboration, A Mother’s Gift.
