‘Sister Wives’ Meri Brown Reveals Kody’s Disrespect Over Request
Sister Wives star Meri Brown has experienced significant disrespect over the years.
Even though she was Kody Brown’s first wife, he consistently put her down, treated her poorly, and resented her for being unable to have more than one child.
But now, their split is final. After years of mistreatment, Meri Brown finally has the final laugh.
Meri Brown Triumphs, Kody Completely Ghosts Her
Kody Brown certainly didn’t treat his first wife well. But no matter what happened in the past, Meri Brown is a single woman now and can do as she pleases. She’s no longer married to Kody — legally or spiritually.
“It’s been an interesting year,” Meri revealed during Sunday night’s episode. “I really, really felt like that he was just doing everything he could to have me be the one to leave so that he could say, ‘My hands are clean. She’s the one who left.’”
The TLC star went on to share that she asked for an official release from the AUB. She texted Kody to ask if he had any opinions about it, but he declined to respond. The church granted the release and Meri proudly announced that she and Kody were no longer in married in any shape or form.
Much to everyone’s surprise, Meri admitted the church granted the release on grounds of abandonment. She knew Kody wouldn’t appreciate the phrasing, but she agreed with the church’s decision.
“Robyn felt that if I waited on God, that things could change for mine and Meri’s relationship,” Kody defended himself in a different confessional. “And that was advice that I took, and I waited. As time went on, I realized that it was never really going to work.”
The family patriarch expressed regret that he didn’t figure out his feelings sooner for Meri’s sake.
The TLC Star Always Did What She Felt Was Right For Her Family
Fans were excited to learn Meri Brown received the release she desperately wanted. But that wasn’t the only surprising point from Sunday night’s episode.
Tony and Mykelti were teasing Christine over the rumor that plural wives breastfeed each other’s babies. Christine adamantly denied it and said she would never. However, Meri revealed in a confessional that she breastfed one of the Brown family’s children out of medical necessity.
“I actually breastfed one of our kids that was not my own child,” the TLC personality revealed. “And that was something that was kind of medically necessary at the time. But it wasn’t something that we did on a regular basis just for fun, just for kicks and giggles.”
Meri didn’t elaborate, but timing indicates that the other baby was potentially Maddie Brown Brush.
