Real Reason Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell Never Got Married
Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn have been a couple for 40 years. They have one son together, Wyatt Russell, born in 1986. However, despite this, they have never gotten married. According to reports, they talk about a wedding often, but friends say they always back out eventually.

Why Are Kurt Russell & Goldie Hawn Not Married?
Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn first met in 1968 when working on the musical The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band. They got along, but they went their different ways. However, in 1984, they worked together again in Swing Shift, and this time, they started dating.
Goldie had just divorced her second husband, Bill Hudson whereas Kurt just divorced his wife, Season Hubley. Additionally, Goldie had two children with Bill, Oliver, and Kate Hudson. Kurt and Season had a son named Boston. Yet, Kurt and Goldie hit it off and two years later, they welcomed Wyatt Russell into the world.
The couple has been together for 40 years but has never married. When asked previously about this, Kurt admitted that “Marriage didn’t work for either one of us,” referencing their past spouses (via Today). “I didn’t think that we really needed to get married. I mean, what marriage ended up being, in many ways, is big business.”
Goldie also has an idea about it: She feels marriage ruins a relationship’s sizzle. One insider said Goldie thinks that “getting married will jinx what they have and that it will be the end of their sizzling sex life” (via Closer).
However, that hasn’t stopped them from talking about it recently.

One insider said that the couple have discussed finally getting married more than once:
“Their friends and family are sick of them flip-flopping over the issue and wish they’d make up their minds already — or just stop talking about it.”
The source said that Goldie, 78, and Kurt, 73, had finally gotten on the same page about getting married, but then “cold feet set in as it has so many times before.”
The source said they get their friends and family excited about it and then change their minds, which is getting old for many close to them. They noted that Kurt and Goldie “like the attention,” which might be why they brought it up here and there.
However, they also said one thing possibly keeping them from getting married is their differences. They have been together for 40 years, but they don’t agree on everything. Goldie has said they have different political views which might be a reason to keep things simple by not tying the knot.
