Garth Brooks Denies All Allegations, Wants Truth To Come Out
A lawsuit filed in early October has accused Garth Brooks of sexual abuse, sexual assault, and rape. The country singer’s former hairstylist and makeup artist has detailed some disturbing interactions with her old boss. However, Garth says that he is “not the man they have painted” him to be. In fact, he wants the truth to come out. Here is what he’s had to say.
Allegations Of Abuse Met With Exploitation Claims
More information has continued to come out of the lawsuit against Garth Brooks. “Jane Roe” started working with the country music icon in 2017. Prior to that, she worked with his wife, Trisha Yearwood, since 1999.
In the complaint, she alleges that Garth groped her, raped her, made numerous unwanted sexual remarks, got undressed in front of her, and even sent sexually explicit text messages to her throughout 2019. She also mentioned that Garth allegedly made multiple comments about wanting to have “threesomes” with her and his wife. Their former hairstylist also said that Trisha Yearwood overheard some of the explicit comments her husband made “on at least one occasion.”
Garth Brooks has adamantly denied all of the allegations being made against him. In a statement, he said that he was being “hassled to no end with threats, lies and tragic tales of what my future would be.” For his part, he alleges that Jane Roe is exploiting him for millions of dollars.
“It has been like having a loaded gun waved in my face. Hush money, no matter how much or how little, is still hush money,” he said. “In my mind, that means I am admitting to behavior I am incapable of, ugly acts no human should ever do to another.”
Garth Brooks Attempted To Block The Lawsuit
Both parties have stated that Jane Roe was going through financial problems at the time these alleged acts took place. Garth says that she began trying to exploit him for more money, while she says that he started hiring her more and became more aggressive with his sexual advances.
At one point, she alleges that he brought her along to Los Angeles for a Grammys event. She said that she felt surprised that she realized it was only her and Garth Brooks going to the event. Normally, there were more members of his team present when he traveled. When they got to the hotel, it was revealed that Garth only had one room for the two of them.
That is when she alleges she was raped. She stated that she felt “trapped” and she was not able to “escape his physical domination.”
The country music star attempted to file a suit to block Jan Roe from making a formal complaint. He said that this was to “speak out against extortion and defamation of character.”
That said, he maintains his innocence and says that he trusts the system. “I do not fear the truth, and I am not the man they have painted me to be,” he said.
