Was Mauricio Umansky’s Father Abused By His Girlfriend?

Anyone who’s seen Buying Beverly Hills knows Mauricio Umansky well. The hard-working realtor was making waves on Netflix for two seasons starting in 2022. Beyond that, it’s also easy to recognize him from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. However, Mauricio‘s reality TV presence isn’t exactly a factor right now because he’s facing a serious issue regarding his father. Mauricio’s dad, Eduardo Umansky, allegedly just went through something terrible with his girlfriend. It has caused Mauricio to seek conservatorship over Edwardo. These are the details.

Was Mauricio Umansky‘s Father Abused?

According to In Touch Weekly, Eduardo’s past romantic relationship was a toxic one. He dated a woman for the last 22 years, but she might not have had his best interest this entire time. Since Mauricio wants to see his father loved and taken care of, he’s jumping into action to make a drastic change. Filing for a conservatorship is the first step in Mauricio’s plan to gain healthy control over his father’s estate. The petition he filed says:

”Over the course of the past few months, PC’s [proposed conservatee] girlfriend has become more controlling, limiting and regulating who the PC can visit with. She has begun to isolate him and is trying to get married even though they have been together for twenty years and never decided that they wanted to marry.”

The petition goes on to describe Eduardo‘s girlfriend “verbally and emotionally abusing” the older gentleman. Apparently, it “enraged” her to find out that Eduardo went to lunch with Mauricio and Mauricio’s sister, Sharon. Based on what’s been revealed in the petition, it sounds like Eduardo’s girlfriend was going out of her way to keep Eduardo as isolated and controlled as she possible. Mauricio’s statement continues:

”Petitioner is informed and believes and thereon alleges that PC is unable to resist undue influence and fraud and has been taken advantage of by his girlfriend. Over the course of the past eighteen months, PC [Eduardo] and the Petitioner [Mauricio] have discovered that [the girlfriend] has taken, secreted and appropriated more than $260,000 from PC through undue influence, whether physical or emotional, and/or fraud.”

What’s Next For Mauricio Umansky‘s Father?

So, will Mauricio be able to successfully gain a conservatorship over his father? That detail has not been revealed just yet. Mauricio has his father‘s best interest at heart, which means this conservatorship would only stand to benefit Eduardo in the long run. When people think of conservatorships, they often think of the toxic one Britney Spears was trapped in with her father. But those were completely different circumstances.

A judge officially terminated Britney‘s conservatorship in April 2024.
