Dean Is One Of Tori Spelling’s ‘Biggest Supporters’

The Beverly Hills, 90210 alum spoke with People at a gala event on Wednesday, October 9. Tori Spelling took a moment to discuss her relationship with Dean McDermott as they attempted to navigate co-parenting together.

She first filed for divorce in March, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason behind the breakup. The 51-year-old actress listed their official date of separation as June 17, 2023.

Fans may remember that in June of 2023, Dean shared an Instagram post announcing their divorce. He’d done similar things in the past, but Tori Spelling was finally ready to break away from him. Previously, she said that the post and his actions kind of gave her permission to finally move forward with a divorce.

While they had a rocky marriage, Tori says that the pair are doing great now. There’s no chances of them getting back together, but Dean has stepped up.

“We’re really amicable,” Tori told People. “I know in Hollywood people think divorces have to be ugly, ours are not. We co-parent really well, we’re good friends, and he’s one of my biggest supporters.”

Tori Talks About Balancing Work & Her Household

The actress also spoke about the struggle of balancing work and her kids. She admitted that it wasn’t easy. “But hey, we all do it. My kids are really supportive,” Tori said. “The older ones take care of the little one now, so it’s a built-in kind of community in our household.”

She admitted that the hardest thing was being away when she was doing Dancing With The StarsBeing on the dance competition show was full-time for her and “just all-consuming.” Settling back into her normal work schedule has been “easy.”

Tori Spelling was eliminated on the September 24 episode of the dance competition. She revealed that her kids were happy to have her around more.

“I’m just back to being a mom now,” she said. “They’re glad I can be their Uber driver and pick them up at all times now, I don’t have to go to dance.”

The 90210 alum previously shared how her children are proud of her for stepping outside her comfort zone to perform on DWTS. She said she received a text from her kids saying, “‘We know this is a big fear and you step out of your comfort zone. You’re such an example for us and you can do anything you want to do, and it makes us believe so can we.'”

Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott share five children, sons Liam Aaron, 17, Finn Davey, 12, and Beau Dean, 7, and daughters Stella Doreen, 16, and Hattie Margaret, 12.
