Garth Brooks Exposed Alleged Victim’s Name In New Court Filing
Country superstar Garth Brooks is ready to play hardball in regard to the sexual assault lawsuit filed against him. On Tuesday he filed a counter lawsuit again the woman who claims he raped her in 2019. She filed her suit as Jane Roe to keep her true identity a secret. However, since Brooks’ name has now been named publicly in her accusations he decided to do the same. He filed a new lawsuit and used his accuser’s real name. She is responding to the new development as well. Keep reading to find out more.
Garth Brooks Exposed His Accuser’s Real Name
Garth Brooks has taken further action against the woman who filed a sexual assault and battery case against him. He and his legal team feel the woman who has been known as Jane Roe released his name to try to shakedown Brooks. He filed the countersuit in an attempt “to preserve his reputation [and] establish the truth.”
Garth filed his lawsuit in District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi Northern Division. His first filing attempted to stop the accuser and also preserve the identify of both parties. It read, “When Jane Roe threatened to publish lies about him — intending to blackmail Plaintiff into paying her millions of dollars — Plaintiff filed this lawsuit to preserve his reputation, establish the truth, and put a stop to her scheme. For the sake of his family, and out of respect for Roe’s family as well, Plaintiff titled this action ‘John Doe vs. Jane Roe.’”
Now, it is known that within 48 hours she released his name so now he feels keeping both identities secret is a “moot” point. So, he refiled using both real names. He believes she is fabricating her story because he refused to her demands for “salaried employment and medical benefits.”
The documents claim that his accuser said she would not publicly out him if he agreed to pay her millions of dollars.
Right now her name has not been released by the media.
Her Team Responds To Garth Revealing Her Name
US Weekly spoke with Jane Roe’s legal team to find out what she thinks about Garth Brooks refining his lawsuit seeking punitive damages and exposing her name.
Her legal team said, “Garth Brooks just revealed his true self. Out of spite and to punish, he publicly named a rape victim. With no legal justification, Brooks outed her because he thinks the laws don’t apply to him. On behalf of our client, we will be moving for maximum sanctions against him immediately.”
It has been said it could take two years for this case to play out in the court system. So far Trisha Yearwood has responded publicly to the accusations against her husband. However, sources say his family believes him and is standing by his side.
