American Idol: Luke Bryan And Carrie Underwood Bringing The Country To Judging Panel

With Carrie Underwood joining Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie as a judge, this is a major win for country music, and any country artists who audition.

In many singing competitions, there may be one country-leaning judge or coach as part of the show. However, with Carrie Underwood officially joining the panel, country is more than well represented now on American Idol, with not one, but two successful superstars from that space.

Bryan Dishes On Friendship With Carrie Underwood

Because both Luke Bryan and Carrie Underwood are superstars in country music, many listeners might assume that they were BFFs, even before it was announced that Underwood would be returning to American Idol as a judge.

Recently, Bryan dished on his relationship with Carrie Underwood and how they get along. Bryan said: “Carrie and I, aside from just saying hey and doing a couple of songs together on stage, we’ve never really got to hang out and visit in-depth.”

Interestingly, it seems the country star has spent more time hanging out with Carrie Underwood’s husband than Carrie herself. It turns out, even Jason Aldean previously said that he also hangs out with her husband. So, there’s certainly something of a country bromance going on.

Carrie Underwood’s husband is former hockey player Mike Fisher. It’s not hard to imagine him being buddies with Bryan or Aldean, especially since Fisher was already friends with Underwood’s bassist, who introduced the future husband and wife.
