‘The View’ Whoopi Goldberg Might Have Infected Kate McKinnon
Kate McKinnon was recently on The View. While she was there to talk about her acting career and standup, she was also warmly greeted by Whoopi Goldberg. When Kate came out, she greeted each woman at the table and gave them all a kiss on the cheek before sitting down.
However, Whoopi had something to tell Kate after the kiss.
Whoopi Goldberg Might Have Infected Kate McKinnon
While it was just a kiss on the cheek, there is a chance that Whoopi Goldberg might have gotten Kate McKinnon sick. That is because Whoopi was coughing most of the day during the filming of The View. Sara Hines even warned everyone that Whoopi was sick.
Kate McKinnon was on the show to promote her new book, The Millicent Quibb School of Etiquette for Young Ladies of Mad Science. After Kate kissed everyone on the cheek, she explained he actions to the women.
“I’m sorry, I had to kiss everybody. It’s rude not to kiss. It’s my first time at The View. I’m a virgin. Be gentle, thank you,” Kate said (via YouTube).
That is when Whoopi dropped the bomb on Kate. “The first thing you’re gonna get from The View is a little cold, because that’s what I’ve got.,” she said to the actress. When Sara added that Whoopi had been sick, Joy Behar deadpanned, “Too late.”
She wasn’t deterred, saying, “No problem, I’ll take it.”
Kate McKinnon Talks The View Impersonations From SNL
Kate McKinnon took the time to talk about many of her impersonations from Saturday Night Live. These included impersonations of the women from The View. One of the people that McKinnon impersonated was Joy Behar.
While it poked fun at Behar and The View, the talk show host was happy about it. In the past, Fred Armisen had portrayed Joy in Saturday Night Live sketches about The View. Behar feels Kate McKinnon was an improvement.
“I wanted to do the most fabulous Joy Behar that had ever been done. Sometimes it just doesn’t come,” McKinnon said. “I adore you, and it was an honor.” She said sometimes it doesn’t work, like when they had her do Rudy Guliani, which didn’t make her happy with the performance. However, she loved what she did with Joy.
When Joy said that she just had to trump the guys who played her in the past, Kate said that she felt she did it well and was happy with the final product. She did say that the sketch was written by people who love The View.
