Richard Simmons’ Staff Shares Celebration Of Life Details

Someone from his staff took to the official Facebook page of Richard Simmons to share the details of his upcoming celebration of life. In the post, they wrote, “From Richard’s staff: Hello everyone! We have some good news for you! There has been such a tremendous outpouring of love and support for the family, together with wishes that somehow you could be part of his Celebration of Life.”

The post continued, revealed that Richard Simmons’ celebration will be streaming online for people not able to be present in New Orleans on Saturday, October 5. It will kick off with a Mass at St. Louis Cathedral at 11 a.m. CT. Fans can follow this link to tune in.

Following Mass, another link will be shared so that fans can stream other events being held for Richard. There will be a tribute workout to Sweatin’ 1 in Jackson Square. Then they will perform the famous workout through the French Quarter, which Richard was known to love.

The Facebook post concluded, “The family is thrilled you will be able to join them to celebrate Richard’s Life! Are you in?” In the comments, people expressed their thanks to the family for putting this event together.

The Fitness Guru Was Struggling With His Health At Time Of Death

Richard Simmons died in his home on July 13, one day after turning 76. His body was discovered by his long-time housekeeper and friend Teresa Reveles. After the Los Angeles Police Department was called to the scene, he was pronounced dead.

Ultimately, his death was ruled to be “accidental.” The day before he was found dead, Richard suffered from a fall. It is unclear if this was related to his death in any way. It was also clear from the coroner’s report that the fitness guru was struggling with heart disease.

Fans were devastated to learn about his passing, with many of them paying tribute to him in comments on social media. Now, they will have the chance to see his celebration of life play out online this weekend.
