More Fans Favorites Returning To ‘Days Of Our Lives’
Days Of Our Lives Executive Producer Ken Corday revealed that more fan favorites are expected to return in 2025 for a major storyline. Keep reading to find out if one of your faves is coming back to Salem.
Alison Sweeney, Kristian Alfonso, Peter Reckell & More Previously Announced
Fans already know that several former Days Of Our Lives stars, including Melissa Reeves, will be back on-screen in November to honor the late Bill Hayes, who passed away in January 2024.
But the returns continue into 2025 to help celebrate the show’s 60th anniversary. It was previously announced that Alison Sweeney will return as Sami Brady. Furthermore, Bo and Hope, played by Peter Reckell and Kristian Alfonso, are returning for a special storyline.

DOOL Executive Producer Ken Corday broke the news to TV Insider that more returns are in store. Melissa Reeves and Matthew Ashford will be back in 2025. Since the show films so far in advance, the sudser is already filming episodes that won’t air until next year.
Other returnees include: Christie Clark (Carrie Brady), Leann Hunley (Anna DiMera), Victoria Konefal (Ciara Weston), Chandler Massey (Will Horton), Thaao Penghlis (Tony DiMera), Melissa Reeves (Jennifer Horton) and Charles Shaughnessy (Shane Donovan.)

Melissa Reeves gushed over returning to her old stomping grounds. “It’s literally like when you don’t see your family and then you have a family reunion.” She added, “I’m like, ‘I have to focus on the storyline but at the same time, I want to visit with everyone and find out what’s going on in their lives.’ You could text people that but there’s nothing like seeing people in person.”
Major Storyline Involving Vets
The first assumption would be that the returns are part of an episode to honor Drake Hogestyn, who passed away last weekend. However, the returns were all seemingly planned before the devastating loss. Sadly, the legendary Days Of Our Lives actor’s last episode already aired.
The DOOL head honcho teased TV Insider about the upcoming returns. “Fans are really going to enjoy what we have in store beginning this fall and well into next year.” That doesn’t sound like a tribute to Drake Hogestyn, though the show will likely have one.
Some fans think the vets are returning because the soap is killing off Roman Brady (Josh Taylor.) All of the characters returning do have connections to Roman.
