Vail Bloom Hints At ‘Young & The Restless’ Return
Actress Vail Bloom’s character on The Young and the Restless has been killed off. However, the actress suspects this might not be the last time fans see her on the show. She also talked about what it was like working on the show.
Heather Had A Fatal Encounter With Sharon Newman
Bloom is known for playing assistant district attorney Heather Stevens on The Young and the Restless. Initially portrayed by child actors, Bloom played the character as an adult. Other actresses have played the character, such as Eden Reigel and Jennifer Landon, with Bloom returning to the role in 2023.
The character was recently killed off during a confrontation with Sharon Newman. After going into a trance, Sharon woke up to find an unconscious Heather next to broken glass. A hallucination of Cameron told her Heather had died.
However, characters don’t necessarily stay dead for long in soap operas. Bloom herself hasn’t ruled out the idea of the character coming back to the show. After all, The Young and the Restless even found a way to bring Cameron back as an hallucination.
Talking to TV Line, Bloom noted they way the show handled Stevens’ death allowed some room for a possible return. Noting she’d be happy to return, she explained, “I think resurrection is always cool.”
Anything Can Happen On Daytime Television
Bloom continued, “I’m a huge fan of resurrection. I think what’s really fun about daytime as opposed to maybe other formats is you can experience things beyond your wildest dreams. I would be open to it if the fans really wanted to see more of Heather again.”
If Bloom’s return to the show does indeed turn out to be short-lived, however, she still showed that she was grateful for the part. As she noted, “It was fun for the show, and I’m so happy that I was received well and that fans were excited to see me again. But personally, it was a blessing because it felt like home and family.”
“The first time I played Heather, I was young and I just moved to LA and you’re not a fully grown, operating adult when you’re just starting out. So, it was so beautiful to have the experience of what I had in my early 20s and then be able to see it through the lens of someone who’s older and wiser and 10 years deeper into the industry. I was just so thankful for it. I felt so lucky.”
Back in 2008, Bloom was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for playing Stevens. In addition to her role on The Young and the Restless, Bloom is also known for the reality series Vanderpump Rules and the web series Angel of Death.
