‘Teen Mom’ Amber Portwood Ditches Daughter’s Big Day
Teen Mom star, Amber Portwood allegedly ditched her daughter, Leah’s big day. She has said that she wants to be a big part of Leah’s life yet she keeps failing to show up. More so, Amber blames it on her ex-fiance and Leah’s father, Gary Shirley, or even on her own daughter. So, what did she miss out on this time? Keep reading for more details.
Amber Portwood Ditches Daughter’s Big Day
In the last season of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, Amber Portwood showed off her new man, Gary Wayt. She also received a lot of pushback for treating her daughter, Leah horribly. Amber called Leah names and acted as if she was a peer and not her own child. More so, when Leah had enough of her mother, Amber stopped making an effort. She then turned it on Leah, who is just 15 as well as her father, Gary Shirley. Amber was a teenager when she and Gary had Leah and were engaged for a short period but called it off.
It was an incredibly combative and toxic relationship with Amber always lashing out at her partners. Gary went on to marry a woman named Kristina and they had a daughter. She has been an amazing mother figure when Amber has lacked so Leah wants Kristina to adopt her. That is not something Amber will allow but she has once again, dropped the ball. It was Leah’s homecoming and Amber was allegedly invited but she seemingly ignored the texts.

According to @tm_chatter, Amber Portwood was alerted that they would be taking photos before the dance. However, she allegedly ignored the texts and did not show up. This made its way to a Reddit thread and the OP wrote this:
- And honestly, it was for the best that Amber didn’t come. She would’ve ruined Leah’s night.
Leah stunned in a little black dress, her hair parted down the middle and in loose waves. She posed with her father as well as her date who looked simply adorable.
Not A Shocker
Despite Amber Portwood not wanting Leah to be adopted by Kristina, she is not putting in the work. Yet, Teen Mom followers were not shocked she failed to show up for this big moment. More so, they felt Amber would have just ruined the night:
- She’d have showed up late, then called her a d*ck in front of her date.
- Since Amber didn’t have anything to show off about or a new man at her side there was no reason to show up 🥴
- I’m sure Amber is still waiting for Leah to contact her directly, and probably to apologize.
- Must not have been filming. No reason to pretend to care.
The big question is if they had been filming, would Amber have made an effort? Maci Bookout and Catelynn Lowell were so concerned about how Leah being adopted would affect Amber’s mental health. However, fans were livid that they were not thinking about Leah.
