Which Former ‘DWTS’ Pro Vowed To Never Return?
Although many former DWTS pros loved their time on the show, the same can’t be said across the board. In a new interview, one former dancer says they do have special memories of the show. But even so, they’ll never return in any capacity.
One Former DWTS Pro Feels Completely “Done” With The Show
Cheryl Burke was a professional dancer on DWTS for 26 seasons. She brought home the Mirrorball Trophy in Seasons 2-3. Although the series took her career to the next level, she’s developed pretty negative feelings for it over time. She officially retired at the end of Season 31, along with long-time judge Len Goodman.
“I’m done with that. Feelings aside, I just have zero interest in teaching another celebrity how to dance, to be quite honest,” Cheryl told Us Weekly in a new interview.
“I don’t think I would be in a spot where it would be so easy for me to get sucked back in [in] a way where it starts to define me again,” the professional dancer continued. “And I’m still a little vulnerable to say, ‘OK, I’m ready to do that.’”
After Len Goodman passed away, DWTS hosted a special tribute dance and invited many former pros back to perform. Cheryl Burke wasn’t invited and was deeply wounded by that decision.
But even so, she’s holding onto the special memories she had throughout 26 seasons.
“I just feel like I am still, in a way, grieving but not nearly as heavy as it was a year ago. I also feel like it’s been helpful to hear my guest’s stories and what they’ve been through, because we don’t have that time to talk,” the dancer told Us Weekly. “And if we do get there, we always get pulled in a different direction. So there’s a lot of similarities, but there’s also beautiful memories, and it’s everything.”
Cheryl Burke Feels Her Podcast Created Rifts
Cheryl Burke previously said she understands the executive producers aren’t fond of her. Although she never received concrete answers, she believes her podcast, Sex, Lies, and Spray Tans, is largely to blame. However, Cheryl doesn’t think this is fair and wants to keep her show’s focus on her guests.
“I can only assume — obviously I would guess it was the podcast — but hopefully now they understand that there’s no harm in this podcast whatsoever,” the 40-year-old continued. “We don’t even talk about the show until the end and most of the interview [is] about them.”

There won’t be a new episode of DWTS tonight due to the Vice Presidential debate. But next week, there will be two exciting new episodes and a double elimination. Tune in and see who advances to week four and who says goodbye.
