Jenna Johnson Didn’t Want Joey Graziadei As ‘DWTS’ Partner

DWTS Returns Next Week
The competition is heating up on Season 33 of Dancing With The Stars. The contestants and their pro partners have two dances until their belts and faced the season’s first elimination. They get an unexpected break this week. As we previously reported, the Vice President debate will air on Tuesday, October 1. Dancing With The Stars returns next week with episodes on Monday and Tuesday. Soap opera General Hospital also has an unexpected hiatus this week.
Joey Graziadei is one of the celebrities competing on DWTS this season. The Season 28 Bachelor could be the first male star from the franchise to win. Bachelorette stars Kaitlyn Bristowe and Hannah Brown won during their respective seasons.
He got a 21 out of 30 for his Cha Cha on the first week of the season. His second dance earned a 22 out of 30 and steamed up the ballroom with a sexy Rumba. The scores put him in the middle of the pack, but the judges agree that he has potential.
Jenna Johnson Didn’t Want Joey Graziadei As A Dance Partner
There has been a lot of talk on social media about Joey Graziadei and his partner, Jenna Johnson. Some fans are uncomfortable with their sizzling chemistry because Joey is engaged to Kelsey Anderson. The Bachelor star revealed recently that he requested a dance partner who was in a relationship to help curb rumors of a showmance.
But Jenna Johnson didn’t want Joey as her partner at first. She admitted as much during an appearance on the Almost Famous podcast. The DWTS pro addressed a rumor about the casting process. She shut down speculation that the dancers know who their partners are before their first meeting. The DWTS season premiere often shows footage of the pros and celebs meeting for the first time and she said that’s authentic.
“I think people think that we know who we’re gonna have for a little bit, that’s not the case.”
Jenna Johnson also made the shocking admission that she didn’t want to be paired with Joey Graziadei at first. She had her eyes set on someone else: an NFL player.
Former pro football player Danny Amendola is competing on DWTS this season but he’s paired with Witney Carson. Jenna has nothing against Joey Graziadei but she really wanted the NFL player this season.
“I was a little sad because I’ve been promised — not promised — but I’ve never had a football player. Through my time on the show I’ve never had a football player. So I kind of heard Danny [Amendola, two-time Super Bowl champ and former NFL wide receiver] was going to be involved and I was like, ‘This is my year. I’m gonna get the NFL guy.’”
