Distraught Ethan Plath Talks With Kim About His Future, Preview
During the Welcome To Plathville Season 6 finale, Moriah Plath is taking the family on an adventure to sing as a family once again. Likewise, Barry Plath is face-to-face with Kim Plath’s boyfriend, Ken Palmer. However, Ethan Plath also makes an effort to reconnect with his mom, Kim. Although distraught, he decides to talk with her about his future plans.
Ethan Plath Sits Down With His Mom
Both Kim Plath and her oldest son, Ethan Plath, have had a difficult time talking with each other for years. After Ethan Plath’s wife, Olivia Plath, locked horns with Kim, anger began to bubble up within Ethan. However, since Ethan is no longer married to Olivia Plath, he is beginning to defuse. Now he is taking the journey to repair his strained relationship with his parents, Barry and Kim. Although he has avoided much more than surface-level conversations with his mom after being extremely angry, he is finally ready to sit down and talk.
Distraught Ethan Plath Talks With Kim About His Future
In a preview for the upcoming Welcome To Plathville Season 6 finale, there seems to be an opening for Ethan Plath to try to reconnect with his mom, Kim Plath. Since the family is coming together with Moriah Plath’s music career, they are facing many of the divides that have been there for a long time. As Ethan and Kim sit outside at a beachside restaurant, he struggles to know what to say. But Kim starts by asking how he is doing after the divorce from Olivia Plath. Undoubtedly, she is still sorting through her feelings with her divorce from Barry Plath as well.
Uncertain, Ethan replies, “I don’t know, some days are better than others.” Then, as he reflects on his relationship with Olivia, he says, “I don’t really know why we couldn’t have made it work out.” Sadly, Ethan wanted to save the marriage, but Olivia had firmly stated it was over.
Ethan Plath Admits How Difficult Life Was With Olivia
However, as Ethan Plath looks for words to explain how he feels about his marriage ending, he is visibly distraught. Then, he confesses, “Even just having a relationship with [the family] was so complicated when we were together, and I don’t think it should be that way when you’re with someone.” Since Kim Plath’s journey with divorce is still fresh, she offers advice she is learning dating Ken Palmer. She says, “Yeah, well, the way I look at it, the right person will enhance your life and make it better and not make it harder and more difficult.” Although he doesn’t want to admit it, Ethan responds, “Yeah, I know that’s true. I just never even loved someone like I loved her.” Likewise, even though Ethan is reentering the dating world, he discouragedly says, “And I don’t feel like I ever can again.”
Kim Plath Can Relate
Furthermore, Kim Plath made it clear she still doesn’t like Olivia Plath. She says, “You deserve someone that treats you really well.” While alluding to Olivia not treating Ethan Plath well, Kim continues, “They should treat you like you deserve to be treated.” However, Kim adds, “I want you to meet somebody that you love just as much as her, but that also treats you right.” In a confessional, Kim relates even more with her divorce from Barry Plath. She says, “It kind of breaks my heart to hear him say that he doesn’t think he ever could love anyone that much again.”
She continues, “Because I really want him to find someone that he just loves more than he can even contain. I want him bubbling over with love for somebody. I mean, I think everybody deserves that.” Then, she uses a cute saying to wish her son well, “I found my Ken. Maybe he’ll find his Barbie.”
Olivia Still Haunts His Thoughts
Although Ethan Plath wrote Olivia a letter earlier in the season to “let her go,” he isn’t able to fully release her from his mind. Previously, he explained, “I definitely think that I have more happy memories with her than bad memories, but the happy memories are just as painful as what you would consider a bad memory.” Furthermore, he recognized they went through many things together while they were married. He adds, “I definitely do feel like me and Olivia grew up together. We stepped out into the world together on our own. We gave it a good run, but not everything works.”
