Maks Chmerkovskiy Shares Heartbreaking Family Update
Former DWTS pro Maks Chmerkovskiy has a strong exterior, but he cares about his family more than anything. Today, he and his wife Peta Murgatroyd are the proud parents of three sons.
But sadly, the family is going through an incredibly difficult time at the moment. The dancer gave a heartwrenching update about his grandmother’s health on Instagram.
Maks Chmerkovskiy Shares A Tragic Update On His Grandmother
Fans who frequently check in with Maks Chmerkovskiy online know his grandmother struggles with dementia. He regularly checks in on her, but it seems her health has taken a turn for the worse lately.
“Just got to spend some time with my grandma,” the Ukranian dancer shared on Instagram, visibly upset. “I decided to do [an update] just because we overshare nowadays and you’ve been on the journey with me and with my grandma and so it’s probably the last time I’m gonna talk about this. It’s a f— terrible thing to witness with your loved ones.”
“The whole process passed the point of any kind of … she is no longer able to recognize anything and this is very difficult for me. Honestly, making posts about it makes it worse at the moment,” Maks continued. “Don’t think I’ll be sharing this anymore.”

Maks’ friends, fans, and colleagues poured words of support into the comments. Many shared their own stories and told the dancer he certainly wasn’t alone.

The series is still new, so it’s not entirely certain what the Chmerkovskiys will feature on the show. Fans would love to see Maks spend time with his grandmother, but the subject may be too sensitive to film.
