‘Today’ Hoda Kotb’s Replacement Already Revealed?

Hoda Kotb just announced she will be exiting the Today Show in early 2025, with no official date being set. Everyone on her team is absolutely devastated as are the fans. The big question, aside from when Hoda’s final airdate, is who will take over her spot. It appears that information may have been revealed but who is it? Keep reading for more details.

Today Hoda Kotb’s Replacement Already Revealed?

On Thursday, September 26th, Hoda Kotb shared she would be leaving Today after seventeen years. Her reasoning made a lot of sense to those who know and love her. She has just moved to the suburbs with her two daughters, Haley and Hope which has been an amazing transition. Hoda beams when talking about walking the girls to school every day, coffee mug in hand. She loves them having grass under their feet and feels this is the perfect life for them after years in the city.

That being said, she wants to give them more of her time, given that she waited until her fifties to become a mother. She noted when she turned sixty in August 2024, she finally felt secure in her decision to move on from Today. Her co-workers were allegedly not expecting any of this and they are brokenhearted to think of her leaving. With a handful of months left until Hoda leaves her spot, who will be there to take over? According to Monsters & Critics, that decision may have already been made.

Dylan Dreyer, the Today Show meteorologist may have spilled the beans as to who could replace Hoda Kotb when the time does come. She was at the People’s Choice Country Awards the same night Hoda shared she was leaving. Per Dylan, the whole team is a “family” therefore anyone could potentially fill the spot:

“I don’t think if they named anyone in our core group of people it would be surprising. We’ve all filled in along the way when somebody’s out. I don’t know if anybody’s made any decisions yet, but if it’s one of the core group, I really don’t think it’s that surprising.”

The list ranges from Craig Melvin to Sheinelle Jones, Carson Daly, and Jenna Bush Hager. It may come down to who the public would like to see take over. Peter Alexander and Laura Jarrett, who anchor the weekend, may also be on the list.

Don’t Leave

It is still heartwrenching to think of Hoda Kotb not being on television every morning. Fans are still coming to terms with this notion and have expressed it on social media:

• Dammit Hoda. I can’t cry anymore!
• I love how you all love and support each other on Today. You all are so cohesive. I cannot even can imagine Hoda not being there!
• I’m happy for Hoda but I’m so sad for us! I love her and the joy she brings to the show!
• Every time I see her I cry! I love Hoda.
• You will be missed, Hoda. Thank you for all of the positivity and good vibes through the years. ❤️

However, many who support Hoda are happy that she is following her dreams and going to be with her children. This is a new chapter and an exciting one but she will be missed.
