Kaitlyn Bristowe Says ABC Exec Hated Her As ‘Bachelorette’
Bachelor Nation star Kaitlyn Bristowe has spoken out for years about how she was denied a chance to appear on Dancing With The Stars because of an ABC executive. She revealed recently that the same exec didn’t want her to be The Bachelorette either. Keep reading to find out why not.
Kaitlyn Bristowe’s DWTS Dream Crushed For Years
Bachelorette alum Kaitlyn Bristowe finally had her chance to compete on Dancing With The Stars in 2020. The outspoken reality star revealed in 2017 that she was in talks to join the dance show. However, the creator of the Bachelor show, Mike Fleiss, wouldn’t let her.
Kaitlyn went on to win Season 29 with her pro partner, Artem Chigvintsev. She was the second Bachelorette to win the dance competition. Hannah Brown won the Mirrorball Trophy in Season 28. Bachelor Nation stars Jenn Tran and Joey Graziadei are competing on Season 33 of DWTS.
ABC Exec Didn’t Want Her As Bachelorette
Mike Fleiss abruptly left the franchise in 2023. During a recent appearance on Real Housewives star Tamra Judge’s Talking a Big Game podcast, Kaitlyn spoke about her frustration over DWTS. She pointed out that several men from The Bachelor were allowed to compete, including her Bachelorette runner-up and Season 21 Bachelor Nick Viall.
Kaitlyn Bristowe’s battle to get on DWTS is well-documented. However, she revealed that the Bachelor creator never wanted her as the Bachelorette, either. Season 11 stands out in the franchise because the male suitors voted whether they wanted Kaitlyn or Britt Nilsson as the Bachelorette. The men chose Kaitlyn and Season 11 is considered one of the best. But it didn’t happen.
According to Kaitlyn, Mike Fleiss didn’t want her as the Bachelorette at all. She said that he thought she only wanted to get on the show to be famous. While many contestants are now accused of being “clout chasers,” social media was still relatively new back then and Kaitlyn said she went on the show to find love.
